Mariama Gano and Jibi Sowe from Boudouck, a village in the department of bounkiling, were bestowed a triplets, all boys.

Today, Dec 10, 2024, Mr. Sowe baptized the children, naming them after Prime minister Ousmane Sonko, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and El Malick Ndiaye.

Both the two parents are said to be patriotic and PASTEF sympathisers. Madam Gano is an activist in the commune of ndiamalathiel.

We wish these children a long abd happy life.
“Congratulations on the arrival of your long-awaited babies! May this little miracle bring an abundance of happiness and joy into your life," one of PASTEF militants Cherno Jallow said.

This is an information coming from The Gambia Armed Forces.

"The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) wishes to inform the general public that it will be conducting a Field Training Exercise (FTX) within the general area of the West Coast Region (WCR). This will witness movement of troops in large numbers around Siffoe covering the entire Southern belt of Foni. The movement of troops will commence on Sunday 8 December 2024 and will take two weeks or thereabouts

In view of the above, the public especially those living in the WCR are urged to go about their normal businesses and not to panic as this is normal and usual military drill.
Thank you for your usual cooperation and understanding. Please kindly disseminate the information on your platforms."

The Women Journalists Association of Gambia congratulates its members for an extraordinary performance in this year’s National Journalism Awards. Out of the Thirteen (1) Awards issued, Women Journalists scooped seven (7) including the 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 Award.

The awards claimed were the Health Reporting Award by Nyima Sillah, Tourism, Art and Culture by Mam Nabou Kah, the Agriculture award and Environment awards both received by Maimuna Bah. And for the first Time on her first appearance, Mariam Sankanu won the Legal Reporting of the year Award, Human Rights Award, The Investigative Reporting Award and The 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫.

Mariam Sankanu’s has become the first Female Journalist to break the male dominance record in Journalism Awards by winning the prestigious Journalist of the Year Award alongside Investigative Journalist of the Year making it first time a woman has ever achieved both honors.

While we congratulate all the winners and the nominees, we renew our call for gender equality in the news rooms, because despite this historic feat, which shows that there isn’t a lack of knowledge and skills among women journalists, editorial boards and decision-making positions in newsrooms are mainly dominated by men.

According to a veteran member of PASTEF, Senegal Thierno Diallo, the current Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane SONKO is the only political leader in Senegal's political history who organised a political meeting where militants and party sympathisers had to pay in order to enter into the venue ground.

The PASTEF party leader Ousmane Sonko organised a grand rally at the Dakar Arena yesterday on the 19th of October 2024.

ALERT!

This man here captured is called Abdoulie Ly, he is said to be originally from Wellingara in Southern Senegal. Abdoulie has been reported to be mentally unstable. According to sources, he currently resides in the gardens between Gunjur and Siffoe.

One Ebrima Colley, a local resident, has reported that Abdoulie Ly has no permanent place of refuge. He is often found sleeping in incomplete buildings around the area. This situation is concerning as it exposes him to various risks.

We are sharing this report in hopes that Abdoulie Ly’s family or anyone who recognizes him can come forward to provide assistance.

The Gambia Immigration Department Reshuffles Public Relations Office.

Mr Siman Lowe is now the new Public Relations Officer of The Gambia Immigration Department.

He wrote the following statement on his Facebook profile yesterday.

"I am honoured to commence the role of Public Relations Officer of The Gambia Immigration Department.

Following my two-year service to the University of The Gambia Students' Union and UTG-Social Sciences and Humanities Students' Association respectively, as Information and Communications Minister, I take this responsibility with a renewed commitment to unlearn, learn and relearn.

It's a call to duty, and I'm bound to continue the legacy of my most cherished predecessor, open up to more guidance and serve with dedication in enhancing the work of the department.

I wish to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to the Director General and entire GID command for the trust bestowed upon me and the promotion of youth participation in leadership.

To Assistant Commissioner Seedy Njie, working with you as your has been a fulfilling experience. I'm ever grateful of your trust and guidance over the past months, Sir."
