SLC-6 Music is a record label based on California's Central Coast near one the world's most prolific space and missile bases. Founded by dj/producer D.J. MacIntyre, SLC-6 Music is an idea with a nod back to history, and forward to the future, with releases from the house and techno musical families. SLC-6 Music derives its name from, and is a tribute to, Space Launch

Complex 6 at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Lompoc, California. The history of SLC-6 is fascinating and filled with dreams of progress, dreams thwarted, and reinvention. A multi-billion dollar project, the complex was built with the intention to launch NASA's Space Shuttle from the west coast of the United States. After the Space Shuttle Challenger was tragically destroyed, NASA re-evaluated the Space Shuttle Program and the decision was made to scrap the plan to launch from Vandenberg. The world was space-crazed and the city of Lompoc eagerly anticipated the increase in tourism and boost to the economy that being home to the Space Shuttle would bring. When plans changed, Lompoc was left with disappointment and a lot of underused hotels. For many years SLC-6 symbolized the dashed dreams of those looking to push the limits of our human reach, and those of a small California town. The re-emergence of SLC-6 began with lower profile missile launches in the 1990's, but it was with the decision to launch the massive Delta IV rocket that the complex again began to regain the aura it once had. As successful Delta IV launches followed one another, SLC-6 came again to symbolize progress, hope, and a reach for the sky. SLC-6 Music embraces parallel attributes to the vaunted Space Launch Complex - resilience, progression, technological advancement, and a gaze cast upward into space. We hope the music brings you the same sense of wonder and mystery that one experiences when observing a rocket launch into space.

The latest release from D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of 'Strange Rain' by digital mess. Originally released in August of 2022 and earning support from Kolsch, Nick Warren and Paul Van Dyk, the four-track showcase found the Russian artist crafting a cohesive blend of club-effective tracks, complete with prophetic design and dystopian style narratives. Now, looking to breathe new life into the EP for 2023, SLC-6 Music calls upon rick pier o neil, CaThY-K, F-Act, Leandro Jaime, Sergio Vilas and Gru V to provide their own unique versions.

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the month of November by showcasing the second and final set of interpretations of Runik's 'Dawn / Dusk' album. Released in September of 2022, the long player was a prime example of the Paraguayan duo's creative attitude, with the thirteen-track affair finding a perfect balance between dance floor minded productions and living room listenability. With the first remix edition landing in April with new interpretations from digital mess, Lena Storm, Headkube, Ucros and Blanka Barbara, SLC-6 now completes the two-part project with new renditions from (in order of appearance) Juan Ibañez , Dr Chrispy , Dr Green , Murilo and Amber Long.

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the fall season by welcoming Dr Green back to the label for a new single. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Daniel Claessen aka Dr Green has been one of SLC-6's core artists since making his debut last year. Noted for his groovy and percussive progressive sound, the Mirissa resident has recorded five originals and a remix for the label, with his most recent offering being the the August vehicle 'Raksasa''. Also finding a home on Droid9 and Movement Recordings, Dr Green now makes a welcome return to SLC-6 with 'Duhkha', alongside remixes from Rockka and ISMAIL.M & Redspace. Dr Green continues to explore timeless progressive narratives on 'Duhkha'. Rhythmically charged throughout, its chunky cadence, retro-design and mesmerizing percussion set the piece on a course for hypnotic enlightenment. Soulful wails marry perfectly with orbiting effects as the main break commences, before a series of beefy breakbeats builds tension towards a thunderous drop and suitably tripped out finale. Fellow countryman Rockka returns for the first remix, following an appearance on the label's 'SIX: Stage-16' collection in August. The fast rising Sri Lankan takes square aim at the dance floor with a sleeker interpretation which makes great use of the original elements and a more melodic break. The release concludes with ISMAIL.M & Redspace returning to the label following projects for Time After Time and Univack. The duo continue to build on their creative synergy with a powerful rendition of 'Duhkha', complete with devilish stabs, muscular grooves and darker monochromes throughout.

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the fall season by welcoming Luciano Capomassi and Martin Fredes for their first appearance on the label. Based in Argentina and Spain respectively, both Luciano and Martin have gotten their production careers off to an impressive start. Although less than five years into their journey, the duo boasts a combined discography highlighted by releases via AMITABHA, Droid9, RYNTH, The Purr and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Often finding the creative space between progressive and organic house, Luciano and Martin now combine their extensive forces for the first time, making their SLC-6 Music debut with 'Midnight Mirage', alongside a remix from Weird Sounding Dude. Further diversifying their portfolio, Luciano and Martin craft an uplifting progressive groover that both new and old fans of the genre will appreciate. Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, the duo's smooth chugging basslines, hopeful pads and emotive melodies unite in a colourful marriage, ultimately leading to a captivating break. Percolating rhythms, tasteful overlays and sweeping effects take centrestage across the interlude, before warm beats emerge from their progressive architecture, pushing onwards to a thrilling finale. As one of India's rising musical mavericks, Weird Sounding Dude has emerged from his country's electronic landscape as a premiere progressive house talent. Long a favourite of genre tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Cid Inc, the Bangalore resident often touches on disparate themes and sounds, straddling the divide between intergalactic design and groove-centric hypnotism. With a career that now spans a decade, Weird Sounding Dude has compiled an impressive discography with standout releases via Anjunadeep, Hoomidaas, The Soundgarden and Sudbeat Music. Now, making his SLC-6 Music debut, Weird Sounding Dude puts his inimitable production touch on 'Midnight Mirage'. Warm basslines and rebounding rhythms set the course for snatches of metallic arps, siren-like sonics and bright percussive arrays. A gorgeous contrast from the Indian artist, and one which is explored further across a cosmically correct break.
