Nigerian Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage is 'excited' about her debut film, set to launch in 2024.
To Tiwa, the film, in which she plays the lead role and executive produced, is a 'dream fulfilled.'
The 43-year-old star posted on Instagram on Wednesday, saying the movie 'has been over two years in the making, and I must say this is probably one of the most adventurous, fulfilling things I've done.'
Titled 'Water and Garri,' the film tells the story of Aisha (Savage), an ambitious fashion designer returning to her native home after 10 years in the U.S following a family bereavement, to face the new reality of life.
Directed by Meji Alabi, the film will be launched worldwide on Prime Video.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, graced the launch of a children's book written by notable author, Chimamanda Adichie.
Obi shared photos from the event on his X page on Saturday.
According to him, the event held in Lagos on Friday, and was well attended by notable Nigerians.
Obi partly wrote, "Yesterday, I joined other very respected Nigerians at a remarkable event aimed at improving the reading culture of Nigerian children.
"The event which attracted notable personalities like President Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed, Prof Hakeem Bello-Osagie, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Bella Disu, Ndidi Nwuneli, Chimamanda's husband, Ivara Esege, and others, was the unveiling of a children's book authored by my very dear sister and global icon, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
"The children's book titled, 'Mama's Sleeping Scarf,' was presented at the event tagged, 'Christmas Magic' in Lagos. The motive of the author was to help reinforce the reading culture among Nigerians, especially the youth and children."
The celebrated author is known for her literary pieces like 'Purple Hibiscus,' 'Americanah,' and 'Half Of A Yellow Sun,' among others.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Governor Sanwo-Olu visited the residence of the late Ondo governor in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Friday.
This was made known by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on New Media, Jubril Gawat, in a tweet via his profile on X (formerly Twitter).
Sharing photos, he wrote, "Governor of Lagos State, Mr today paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN in Ibadan."
Sanwo-Olu sharing photos of the visit said, "I paid a visit to the family of late Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN in Ibadan today.
"My heartfelt condolences go to his widow, children, and all who knew and loved him.
"May his soul rest in peace."
Akeredolu, aged 67, passed away on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer in Germany.

I had graduated and in my place (Owerri) when a girl graduates from the University suitors come from left, right and centre. And your parents would expect you to go for a made man with everything, but I have always known that there was no way I could have married a self-made man. I will better build a home from the scratch with you because I want to have a say in my home"

'Someone was asking me for $35,000', Chinedu Ikedieze tells netizens to stop begging him for money
Nollywood actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, has urged people who frequently message him online to stop requesting money from him.
The comedic actor expressed his annoyance in a video on his Instagram page on Monday where he highlighted the messages he receives from people pleading for both large and paltry sums of money.
He claimed that one of his outrageous beggars had asked him for $35,000, while the other requested for $12,000 to open a shop.
He said that he cannot continue to give in to demands from the public, because doing so would cause his financial situation to collapse given how bad the nation's economy is currently doing.
He said," Guys I'm not happy this thing is getting out of hand, how can you people turn my DM to a bank. If I open my dm every time is bros please, its to much .
"The way you guys are asking us for money is like we dont have responsibility, if I start to share the money like that, it will finish.
"Anytime I open my message is either I see bros I need 40 thousand, bros my mother is sick. Imagine someone was begging me for $35,000 that is like 27million another one was asking me for 12 thousand dollars that he wants to open a shop."
