KIXE Local Vision Northern California Local Vision is the concept of Lorraine Dechter, a life-long producer of local news and events in California. ARE YOU READY TO JOIN US?

Local Vision is KIXE-TV’s multimedia project dedicated to increasing the visibility of events taking place in the Northstate by featuring them on television, radio, print, and the web -- combining traditional and social media to reach the greatest audience. By funding Local Vision you will be making a tax-deductible contribution to increase tourism and support local communities’ economic developme

nt. The amount of the funding we receive from businesses and individuals in a community will determine the size of the multimedia project we undertake. The finished programs, features and public service announcements will be featured on local television courtesy of KIXE-TV, on the web at YouTube, and linked from prominent social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. She has worked in every media available from writing print for the Sacramento Bee and other publications; producing radio features for NPR and Northstate Public Radio; producing nationally syndicated television specials for PBS (including the STAGE 9 music series that was broadcast on 1/3rd of the nation’s PBS stations); as well as producing music under her own recording label. Local Vision combines those traditional media skills with internet marketing strategy and savvy. Dechter’s son, Allen Creighton, grew up around public broadcasting, and has been an award winning salesman for local businesses such as Mike’s Mobile Windshield and Selig Construction. He has created this new model for the funding of Local Vision, and is charge of sales and the internet media campaign. Mark Speer is a key member of our team who has one Emmy’s and an Oscar for his work. Mark has Producer/Director/Editor credits on stage and screen productions for companies such as Disneyland, Six Flags Magic Mountain, and has toured with performers such as Sheryl Crow and Tim McGraw. He teaches multi-camera music video production at Butte College and he and his students support KIXE-TV by working on various community projects. He also works on special projects at Northstate Public Radio. Rounding out our team is our intern, Ashley Nakano, a CSUC student graduating this Spring with a B.A. in Journalism: News Editorial and a minor in Political Science. Ashley was Video Editor last semester for Chico State’s award-winning student run newspaper, The Orion, and managed a crew of 6 videographer/journalists. Ashley helped create and launch Northstate Public Radio’s multimedia news department campaign last summer. To make this happen, we need your support, ideas and donations! All levels of funding are needed and appreciated! Small donations are rewarded with opportunities to support and become involved in the project -- and slightly larger donations are rewarded with digital/physical copies of the finished shows and features. Mid-level donations trigger placement on our website, and large donations involve mentions and/or sponsorship funding in show credits -- as well as on the website (with links). All donors who contribute at least $50 are invited to an official pre-release party for the producing programs and features – prior to television broadcast. A small cross-section of large and small donors will make up a local Producer’s Council, which will be tasked to help with the analysis of our social media data to make suggestions to KIXE-TV on which upcoming projects would be best to engage in. Communities can apply to be included in the program through an RFP process. The Producer’s Council will be composed of seven large donors and three randomly selected smaller donors, and will meet online or in person to make their recommendations. All editorial control remains the responsibility of the KIXE Local Vision production team. Help enliven public broadcasting in Northern California and help us make the leap into social media. Help your community thrive and benefit from multimedia marketing programming that is designed to show it in a positive light. Your local programs can now made accessible to a world-wide audience, bringing tourism into the area and supporting local businesses and events.
