Leon is back with a fresh instalment with his latest single Diskotaki. Together with the original we secured two fresh remixes plus an alternative mix from the artist himself.
Opening track is the main Diskotaki song. A catchy and groovy disco funk tune cooked with a rolling arrangement, vintage disco elements and with a cinematic concept that identifies the signature of the artist. In the original you will discover a mixture of analogue synths, twisted arpeggiators and a vocoder blended with Leon’s style guitars. On the Madfunk Mix the artists brings out and old school 90’s breakbeat acid disco style groove under his exact style we know from him since late 00’s.
Our Australian friend Lebrosk is bringing us a solid breakbeat remix with elegant acid and old school influences that brings out a dusty b-boy feeling over the original, by blending classic breakbeats mixed nicely with the original’s disco vibes and transforms the song into a warm and cool groove.
At last we have a remix that comes from Felix Voituret a.k.a Mazard Record together with his mate Martin Ducrocq under their Pattern 120 project. With their remix they present us a warm house remix. Groovy, melodic, funky and bass heavy are the main keys involved into the remix. The remix flirts within the paths of indie, alternative and modern house dance electronica.

Here we have a new offering from French multi-instrumentalist, musician and producer Stephane Voituret, AKA Leon, who recently returned to production after a couple of years' health-enforced hiatus. 'Discotaki', in its original form, is a fluttery, guitar-flecked slice of nu-disco in the classic sparkly, Nang-esque vein but the remixes are little wider-ranging, with Madfunk adding firin' breakbeats and electro flourishes, while Pattern 120 (Felix Voituret and Martin Ducrocq) push the track into fast n' furious indie-dance territory - though the standout to these ears is a jazzier, more laidback pass courtesy of Australian producer Lebrosk.

Timewarp Music regular Zamali impresses greatly with this seven-track release. The unhurried, atmospheric 'Ashanti's Groove' paves the way for what is undoubtedly the collection's standout track, the superbly low-slung and hypnotic 'Funky Friday', after which you get four dreamy, mostly instrumental workouts that blend funk, hip-hop and jazz influences with hints of world music before the excellent 'Video Control' plays us out in fine funk style with its Hammond parps, wukka-wukking geetars and what may or may not be sound snips from a Bob Marley interview. Sadly, as Timewarp's not a big corporate label with a huge marketing budget, 'True Blue' probably won't get half the attention it deserves - so do yourself a favour and become one of the lucky few that are in the know!

Idu Idu Dama begins with a mesmerising guitar melody theme and continues with a deep african feeling, warm keys and an impressive sax section plus those wonderful vocals from Ousmane. Everything is cooked with a laidback afrobeat rhythm that gives an original downtempo vibe to the song's arrangement.
Ilko along with his bass player Wah Tony, takes over with a remix treatment over the song and he provides a fantastic electronic downtempo groove with a slow-mo and four on the floor concept that transforms the original song into a warm balearic afro style groove.
