Good Morning Namibia! Let us Rise and Shine.....🙂🙂🙂🙂

This track was recorded back in December 12, 2012 under the Ekia Record Studio Fun Project. It was however never released and later on, we had lost the original beat. 9 years later, on a bored day, November 2 2021, DJ Toca La found himself producing some random dance beats around 120 BPM. As he was busy producing this particular beat, he slowed it down to 103 BPM and soon realised it could replace the lost beat of So Malemba. After done exactly that THERE WAS NO LOOKING BACK. You are now listening to the final outcome.

We hope that the two artists Qadju and Bra Gun will get to hear this piece of memorable moments.

Every year since 2010 we made it our mission to identify an upcoming artist whom we help produce an album absolutely for free. This year we choose two artists by the name of Amalia a R&B artist and Zombo, a Kwaito artist. Both will as well qualify for 2 or 3 free videos courtesy of Ekia Motion Flares. We will soon display their musical artwork. Our congrats to the two artist and we are looking forward to a fruitful "worklationship". Ekia Media

The strength of a vocal is not about how many takes (double) you layer on top of each other, it is not about how loud you scream into the mic but it is all about correct breathing, expression (feel & attitude) and proper voice control.

We have a big local problem, especially in the Hip Hop industry. We have to many fake "producers" downloading beats and sell them to artist claiming to have been the producers of the artwork. This is seriously not fun at all.

Such producers are easily identified. To best mix a track is when having all instruments for the beat as high quality wave files. And so more often I ask artist, to ask the producer of the beat to provide them with the wave files, yet it always turns out, that the supposed producer comes up with a lame excuse of having lost the files. This is a lie, such a producer never had the files because he/she never produced the beat in the first place. Artist, please be very aware of this, to often you buy beats that has never been originally produced but only downloaded.

Here is the biggest problem with the whole practice, if you buy a beat that was never originally produced and the producer never had the rights to it, it is called piracy and should your track make it to be a hit world wide one day, you will have to deal with the full wrath of copy-right laws.

Locally this is very common in Hip Hop and it simply sucks.

April 4, I will be looking at 10 years of my Record Label, Ekia Records and 10 years on my own as a graphic designer, Ekia Designz with a total of 16 years of graphic design and lay-out experience. in 2009 I ventured fully into full time self-employment. And last year I started the video shoot and editing department Ekia Motion Flares, as well as photo shoots.
After 10 years of hard work and sweat, downfalls and pain, out of my own pocket, help and encouragement from friends and family, I laid down the foundations for my dream, to one day own a multi-media company, Ekia Media. Today, I am proudly standing in that path of another long way of hard work and sweat, downfalls and pain in the name of success.
I am proud to be a fighter and in my own rights a life-champion. And though many times I wanted to give up because of life challenges, loved ones passing, lack of money etc... I never did. Instead I promised myself, only death can ever keep me away from achieving my ultimate dream. And if it does, I will always know it took me while a fighter.
I deeply thank and LOVE everyone who has been there for me in every step of the way and everyone who is still to play a role in my life.

There is A huge difference between mixing and mastering. I concentrate for now on mastering:

What is mastering:

In its basic, mastering is to make your final mix perfect or in the case of multiple tracks (cd) sonically cohesive/balanced to the ears on each and every stereo system and to make sure your dynamics are well controlled from song to song on a cd album for instance.

The don'ts:

- Do not intend to fix mistakes while mastering

Why:

- you will more likely enhance the mistake to be heard because mastering does not fix a poor mix.

To the producer:

If you do record, mix and master, never do all the within one day. Always keep your ears refreshed because when we hear something for to long we will end up liking the mistakes with in a mix! Be very careful of that!/ Have a premix today and continue a day or 2 later.

Producers, producers producers....ok, reverb on vocals or any effect plugin for that matter, can really be good when needed but never use it to cover up mistakes. Especially in Hip Hop. You want the main vocal straight in your face and not as if coming from miles away. Listening to many local Hip Hop tracks this s**t really turns my interest off. It goes for the many other local genres as well. Producers are simply just abusing the reverb so to cover up a bad recording or vocal.
