I did a lesson on this verse with my teen class recently at church.

Jeremiah 17:9-10 (King James Version)
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

People say........."Follow your heart."

No!!!! Don't do that. Your heart is deceitful, desperately wicked and tethered tightly to the flesh and what appeases it.

Follow Jesus instead, and the edicts of God's word.

Proverbs 28:26
“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”

*******
Scripture tells us not to seek after our own heart.

Numbers 15:39
And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the Lord, and do them ; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a wh***ng:

*******
Don't listen to your heart when praying about your situation.

Your heart will make you doubt the power of God to address your need, and make your situation appear to be impossible to resolve. Abraham knew of the power of God, but his heart made him question whether it was possible for a 100-year-old man to father a child.

Genesis 17:17
Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?

******
Your heart will fill you with fear instead of faith.

1 Samuel 28:5
And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.

*******
Don't allow the heart to rule your emotions.

If you don't walk in the spirit, your heart can become filled with the emotions of jealously, bitterness, spitefulness and hatred as was Esau's toward his brother.

Genesis 27:41
And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.

******
Don't allow your heart to determine what you give to God.
The heart is selfish and will want you to spend your money on things the flesh wants instead of giving to God.

Exodus 35:5
Take ye from among you an offering unto the Lord: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the Lord; gold, and silver, and brass,

*******
Your heart will convince you that God has nothing to do with the blessings you're receiving and that you are a self made man or woman. Thus, you will not be as thankful as you should for what God has blessed you with.

Deuteronomy 8:17
And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

*****
Your heart will cause you to turn from God to appease the flesh.

Deuteronomy 30:17
But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

*******
Your heart will cause you to follow the wrong leader, because you like that person on a personal level.

Judges 9:3
And his mother's brethren spake of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother.

******

Your heart will convince you that God doesn't see your sin/has forgotten that you are defying his word, when he sees everything you do..

Psalm 10:11
He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

******
Your heart will try to make you believe that there is no God.

Psalm 14:1
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

******
Your heart will be impacted too much by who you spend the most time with. If those around you are ungodly, if you listen to your heart you will begin to do what they want you to do instead of what is pleasing unto God.\\

1 Kings 11:4
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

1 Kings 11:9
And the Lord was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,

******
Don't let your heart control your actions. Prepare it to serve the Lord and be obedient to the directives of God's word by spending time in prayer, in the study of his word, attending church faithfully and keeping your focus on spiritual things.

Ezra 7:10
For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.

*******
If we will seek after God, strive to walk in his commandments, walk in the spirit, then we can train our hearts to ignore the lusts of the flesh and walk in a way that is pleasing unto God.

Deuteronomy 5:29
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

DON'T LISTEN TO YOUR HEART.

OBEY GOD'S WORD & WALK IN THE SPIRIT.

Since July 4th is creeping up, I've been thinking a lot about the word "free."

I love that here in the United States, we have religious freedom that is protected by the Constitution. The First Amendment guarantees freedoms concerning religion, expression, assembly, and the right to petition. It forbids Congress from both promoting one religion over others and also restricting an individual’s religious practices. In some Middle East countries if you practice anything other than Islam it can mean your death. In the United States your religious freedoms are protected whether you be Pentecostal, Baptist, Methodist or Islam etc.

The First Amendment guarantees freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the rights of individuals to speak freely. It also guarantees the right of citizens to assemble peaceably and to petition their government.
I love the fact that we live in a country where we are free to speak our minds (except on Facebook when the liberal factcheckers don't like what you have to say.) We can voice our approval or disapproval of the government without fear of going to prison. In some countries, criticizing the government means jail time. Some liberals in our country would like for that to be the case here in the United States, but as of now that is not the case. If patriots don't go vote, it could soon be the case, but as of now, no.

The Second Amendment guarantees us the right to bear arms (some liberals would like to eliminate that right so they can more easily control us.) Still, the Constitution says........A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The fact that we can protect ourselves from our own government if it goes sideways helps to ensure that the other Amendments stay intact.

Freedom, sweet freedom is worth more than some of the younger generation can imagine. If they studied history more, they would realize how good they have it in the United States. If required to live for a period under a dictatorship, a communist regime, under socialism, they would more value the freedoms they have in the United States.

The most important type of freedom however is freedom in Christ. The only way you can experience that is to seek forgiveness of your sins and ask him into your heart.

John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Romans 6:22
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Jesus is the truth.

John 14:6 KJV:
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If you've experienced the freedom that being in Christ means, don't become entangled again with the bo***ges of sin.

Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bo***ge.

2 Peter 2:20
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

If you've experienced the freedom of Christ, don't allow other humans to enslave you. Don't conform to peer pressure whether it be from your sinner friends or from those you attend church with. Strive to please God, and live in accordance to his word......not in accordance to what your sinner friends or those you attend church with dictate to be your walk.

Galatians 1:10 - For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Acts 5:29 - Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

If you have turned your back on God and drifted back to your sinful life........ Return to the Father's house.

If you want him to return to you, you must return to him.

Zechariah 1:3
King James Version
3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.

1 Peter 2:25
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

Luke 15:11-32
King James Version
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

******
If you want the good things that the Father offers, you must return to him. The blessings/promises of God can be yours if you return to God and Heaven at the end of this life can be yours if you return to the Father. If you continue in sin/defying his word until you leave this world, Heaven will not be your home when you depart this life.

2 Chronicles 30:9
For if ye turn again unto the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

******
When we return to the father, he promises not only forgiveness, but victory over our enemies.

1 Samuel 7:3
And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the Lord, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

2 Chronicles 6:24-27
King James Version
24 And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;
25 Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;
27 Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.

***** When we return to the Lord, he promises mercy.

Isaiah 55:7
Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

****** Don't harden your heart and refuse to return. You won't like the end result if you choose darkness over light.

Jeremiah 23:14
I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as S***m, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.

Jeremiah 5:3
O Lord, are not thine eyes upon the truth? thou hast stricken them, but they have not grieved; thou hast consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.

Jeremiah 8:5
Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

Jeremiah 18:11
Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.

Jeremiah 35:15
I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers: but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.

Jeremiah 36:3
It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.

Ezekiel 18:23
Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

Amos 4:9
I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

I heard a minister preaching online, and his topic was that sometimes what we view as a problem in our life is what God is going to use to bring a great blessing. He was talking about a problematic teen at church who was always extremely loud, always talking loudly during service, was on his phone constantly and was basically being a distraction. One day this minister had a youth event at his church and gave this individual a walkie talkie to carry around to help with the younger kids. He felt important, and for the first time really LISTENED when the minister preached. He got saved. This kid who the pastor viewed as a problem, was the most popular kid in high-school and when he got saved, he evangelized the school. Their youth group went from around 15 to approximately 300 through the evangelism of this one kid. Soooo, what we view to be a problem may be the tool God is using to bring a great blessing in our lives.

When Moses was born, a decree was in place from Pharaoh that all baby boys born to the Israelite slaves were to be killed. A very problematic situation for this mother. Thus, Moses' Mother made a very difficult decision, and because she feared for his life, she hid him in the bulrushes in a basket. Leaving him there in the Nile River inhabited by crocodiles, the Egyptian cobra and the black mamba lived, I'm sure greatly distressed her. What she viewed as a heart wrenching problem became a great blessing. What she couldn't foresee in her moment of distress was that Pharaoh's daughter was going to find Moses, feel empathy for him, raise him as her own son and that he would grow up to challenge Pharaoh and eventually lead the Israelites out of slavery. What she viewed as a great problem became what God used to free thousands of people from slavery.

When Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers, falsely accused by his Master's wife and thrown in prison for a crime he didn't commit, it was a very stressful period in his life. Probably, many times wondered why he was having to go through these things when he'd done nothing wrong. When he was working as a slave or spending his days sitting in a prison cell, he couldn't envision the life God had planned for him and that he would one day be second in command in all of Egypt, in charge of the nation's food supply. When his brothers came to inquire about getting food, you can see that the flesh tried to rise up in Joseph when he put fear in their hearts by accusing them of being spies and accusing Benjamin of being a thief. However, because he was a godly man, he forgave them for selling him into slavery, and came to the realization that God had allowed him to go through the things that he did to put him in a place where he could save his own family and thousands of others during the famine. What they had meant for evil, God used it to bring about good in Joseph's life. Before the palace though, he had to have the prison episode. We all like the palace period, but the prison period we'd all like to skip. However, we have to trust that God knows what he's doing and wait for him to bring his plan to fruition in our lives.

Sometimes as we experience problems in our lives, we view them in a very negative light and can't understand why God is allowing us to go through them. However, later down the road we will come to understand what his purpose was. Sometimes we experience hardships that allow us to have a deeper understanding and more sympathy when we encounter someone else going through the same thing. If you've gone through the same things, you are better equipped to sympathize/empathize and help them if you truly understand how they feel.

Before I raised a teenager, I couldn't really empathize with parents who were in the throughs of that great adventure filled with eye rolls, mouthiness and defiance as that teen asserts themselves in the world and is trying to figure out how to become an adult before they're ready for it. That place in life where they think they know everything, but you know they're about to step into trouble and they get very upset with you because attempt to keep them from problem. That period in life where you understand why some species eat their young. LOL Now I can. I can also let them know that there is light at the end of that dismal period and that they can take solace in the fact that the rebellious teen who is a problem now can grow into a fine young man who loves his family, works hard every day to provide for them and will take his children to church training them up in the way they should go as you trained him. You can take solace in the fact that even when you don't think they're listening to what you have to say, they are. Had I not raised a teenager, I couldn't really empathize with those parents who are struggling through that period.

Before I lost my parents, I couldn't really understand the loneliness that entails, nor the grief associated it. Now I can. I can also let those I meet who are experiencing the same what worked for me. Keeping a focus on Jesus, filling my life with what he called me to do, spending time in prayer, in the study of God's word and focusing on the fact that they're in a better place, are no longer dealing with the problems of life and will be waiting for me when this life is over. They're won their race, and I let that fact propel me forward to win mine so I can see them again. Instead of dwelling on the sadness associated with their death, it makes me feel better to focus on how they lived their life, the things they taught me, and the good times I had with them. Now when I hear about people losing their parents, I empathize more and pray for their comfort more than I probably would have before my parents death.

Before waking up one day about 8 years ago and finding a large lump in my breast, I couldn't understand the fear comes over you when you do. The days that followed were stressful. My husband and I began to pray about it. I told no one other than him, because I knew everyone would think it was cancer and I didn't want to hear doubt spoken over me out loud. I didn't even want to hear the C word spoken! After about 3 weeks I woke to find that the lump had disappeared. Because I experienced that I can both understand the fear a person feels when they find a lump in their breast, but I can also give hope. I can tell them about how God healed me and can do the same for them.

Lord, help us remember that you have a greater plan than ours and can use what we perceive to be a negative to bring about good in our lives and in the lives of others. God is always working for our god, even when we can't see it at the moment. Romans 8:28 attests to this and God's word doesn't lie.

Romans 8:28
King James Version
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Isaiah 55:9
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

With July 4th coming up I was thinking about what it means to be free.

Free Defined:

1. Enjoying civil and political liberty.
2. Enjoying political independence or freedom from outside domination.
3. Enjoying personal freedom : not subject to the control or domination of another
4. Not bound, confined, or detained by force

Freedom Defined:
1. The state of being free.
2. The absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action
3. The quality of being frank, open, or outspoken

LIBERTY Defined:

1. The quality or state of being free:
2. The power to do as one pleases
3. Freedom from physical restraint
4. Freedom from arbitrary or despotic (see DESPOT sense 1) control
5. The positive enjoyment of various social, political, or economic rights and privileges
6.Tthe power of choice

On July 4th we celebrate freedom and our independence from Great Britain (England.) Brave men fought so that they would no longer be controlled by a country across the ocean who did not have our best interests in mind.

We are again at a place in history where those in power do not seem to have our best interests in mind as citizens. It would appear they are attempting to take away civil and political liberties we have enjoyed for over 200 years in this great country. They are trying to put laws in place that would impede our right to free speech, freedom of worship, and label anything they dictate outside the lines of the liberal agenda, hate speech. They are manipulating the public through media sources in the attempt to achieve their agenda. There is a push for gun control, thus we would have a population who couldn't resist the tyranny of govenment which is why the founding fathers made sure the citizenry had the right to bear arms. As a country we drift closer and closer to becoming a socialist country instead of a democracy, and I fear we will become so if patriotic people don't get out and vote those with this agenda out of office. Working people are being taxed to death, while the government doles out money to the lazy left and right. Instead of taking care of their citizens who have paid into the social security systems all their lives, they are rewarding those who are too lazy to work and those who have entered our country illegally. It's ridiculous that an illegal alien gets more from the government per month than a person on social security who has paid into the system until they are in their 60's. Those who are too lazy to work don't seem to realize that they're being controlled. If you are dependent upon the government for your food and housing, it's much easier for them to dictate to you what you can and can't do and what you can and cannot say . Socialism 101. COVID was a testament to the overstep of government and the trampling of our freedoms as citizens. If people don't wake up we are well on our way to losing the freedoms we hold dear. If things continue down the current path, freedom of speech and freedom of religion will be things of the past. They will label anything that is in defiance of the liberal agenda "Hate speech" even if ministers are giving scriptural references, and the freedom to practice our faith and voice our beliefs will be consistently challenged by those in power.

How to Create a Socialist State

How do you change a country’s culture—change it from a capitalist system to a government controlled socialistic society. Here is the playbook, and so far, the socialists appear to be making a lot of progress.

Healthcare — Control healthcare and you control the people

Welfare — Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income).

Education — Take control of what people read and listen to — take control of what children learn in school.

Religion — Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools

Class Warfare — Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level.

Gun Control — Remove the ability for the people to defend themselves from the Government.

Poverty — Increase the poverty level as high as possible. Poor people are easier to control and will keep socialists in power if they are providing everything for them to live.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR??

Go vote people and keep the freedoms many men and women have fought for you to have the right to have, and quit letting the government control you.

As Christians, we are to strive to crucify the flesh, not allow it to have dominion in our lives. We are to walk in the spirit, not allow the flesh to direct our paths. If the flesh dictates our actions and we walk in defiance of God's word, Heaven will not be our destination at the end of this life.....per verses Galatians 5:19-21.

Galatians 5:16-24
King James Version
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Romans 8:6 - For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Romans 8:7 - Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
If you walk in the flesh, it will tell you to give in to temptation and ask for forgiveness later. If you walk in the spirit, God will give you strength to resist the temptation.

Romans 8:8 - So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans Chapter 6
12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

1 Corinthians 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Romans 8:5 - For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Colossians Chapter 3

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

We can serve God or the Devil. We can walk in the spirit or walk in the flesh. We can't do both at the same time. You must choose who you want to serve.

Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

When I read all these scriptures, I can't for the life of me figure out how people think you can habitually sin, defy the commandments of God's word, go about giving heed to the flesh as their daily lifestyle and still make Heaven. Scripture doesn't hold that to be true.
