Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood (former bassist of the groundbreaking band ‘PERIPHERY) just put out a super workshop on his approach to recording drums for metal and rock production. After spending 5 hours immersed in it, I can tell you that some of his tips, especially those on recording overheads and room mics, are definitely going to boost what I have been doing with my metal/rock clients. So glad I checked it out.

We checked some major boxes on our bucket list in 2023: 7 days face-to-face with Chris Lord Alge at La Fabrique Studio, 2 weeks in Japan, one new manager, and the chance to work with a crop of great clients old and new.
For 2024: Sultana Sound Studio will be getting a facelift and some exciting new equipment gets delivered in February (stay tuned…).
We are already starting to feel the tingle of energy and can’t wait to see you all in the new year!

I have my wife to thank tonight for introducing me to the best evening dance I can remember . Sharon Eyal and G*i Behar brought something on stage that I only felt when I DJed. The dancers of L-E-V were outstanding, the sound was palpable, and the choreography was amazing . Chapeau

10 years ago I invested in my first piece of analog gear, a Shadow Hills mastering compressor. Even today, it feels like my first child and brings a smile to my face whenever I use it. No plug-in could ever replace my baby 👼

My new Audeze MM-500 mixing headphones have arrived! After using them the past few days, I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed. I was pretty attached to my good, old Sennheiser HD650, but this brand new model from Audeze is a game-changer that is especially suited for the mixing that I do. I am in LOVE❤️!

A huge thank-you to the amazing professional team at Funky Junk Italy for going above and beyond yet again. I had a fantastic experience purchasing my Shadow Hills compressor and my Maselec MEA-2 from them some years back and their SAV is absolutely top-notch. Hey everyone! It’s back-to-school time and here at Sultana Sounds Studio we are all about lifelong learning and growth. That’s why I am so excited that, in early October, I'll be spending an amazing week at "La Fabrique" studio for a week-long mixing seminar with none other than Chris Lord-Alge. You have probably heard the work of this legendary sound engineer through his massive client list including Green Day, Muse, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, and many more. I deeply admire CLA and I can’t wait to share more details when I'm on-site. Stay tuned!
