WE’RE HALFWAY THERE! Elated to say that we are officially past the halfway mark. We’ve shot 70 minutes of the film in ten days, an extraordinary feat given our budget and scale. It’s only been possible due to the dedication and artistry of our cast and crew and the community support this project enjoys. Enjoy some special BTS snaps!
We’re taking a small intermission from our film shoot to say CONGRATULATIONS TO PARVYN ( ) for being nominated for the ARIA awards! 🥇🎶
Parvyn is our music composer for From All Sides! We’re so excited and proud of her. ❤️
Last dance rehearsal before was shoot tomorrow. We finished with a prayer to honour where this exquisite dance form comes from.
Cannot wait to share the fruits of this groundbreaking collaboration with the world in

From idea to reality! ⭐️Here is a back to back photo of our original concept art from back before we had actors for the roles, to now with our dream cast ready to commence shooting.
Can you believe we start filming less that ten days! What an incredible journey! Thank you to Mullinars Casting ( ) for your amazing work on creating our dream family ❤️

CAST ANNOUNCEMENT! We are delighted to announce that 15-year-old Gavril Kumar has been cast in the role of Clyde, the angry and confused youngest son of Anoushka and Pascal. Gavril’s screen test was electrifying and we can’t wait to work with him! Gavril also lives in South-West Sydney, so he knows exactly the world of the film. Congratulations Gavril!
We need your help please! If you think you can help us or you would like to volunteer as crew head to the link in our bio! Please share this post to your Western Sydney friends ❤️ Team From All Sides
NON-FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Bina Bhattacharya's directorial debut feature film, "From All Sides", promises to be a film the likes of which we have not seen in this country. After a hugely successful crowd funder, we are now looking for NON-FINANCIAL support for this film to bring it to life when it goes into production in late November.
Can you help us with the following:
LOCATIONS
High School
The film requires a school (preferably in South West Sydney) with an assembly hall, a dance room and a school principal's office. Bonus points for schools that would be keen to offer their students as extras for crowd scenes and use of their Uniforms
Recording Studio
Some of the action takes place in a recording studio. Bonus points for a studio with an adjacent tea room or lounge area
Apartments
We are looking for two high rise apartment buildings, one of which with an underground carpark and lift.
Pub
We are looking for a suburban bar.
Cars
Being a film about Western Sydney, a number of scenes take place in cars. If you're happy for us to film a scene in your car get in touch!
EXTRAS
The film has a number of crowd scenes. We are looking for people to play school kids, teenagers, parents, bar patrons and commuters for some realistic scenes set in Western Sydney. No acting experience required!
VOLUNTEERS
This film will need an ARMY of volunteers! We are committed to providing opportunities for people in Western Sydney in particular. If you have your own car and an interest in filmmaking, we want to hear from you! Commit to as few or as many days as you have to give.
CATERING
Catering is a huge but vital expense on a feature film and adds up when you're feeding at least 20 people per day for 20 shoot days. Can you offer to provide a hot lunch to 20 people for one of the days? Every meal donated brings down the costs of our catering budget, which can then be absorbed into things like production design and camera.
If you can help in any way, please complete this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEFmTqwop-OfJ9gK6N_Czp6koTVCAJb9UnPudN41yEHgWsWw/viewform
Looking forward to seeing you on set!
Please fill out this form if you are interested in supporting us during the filming of From All Sides. This is a great way to gain production experience as well as make connections in the film industry. We are looking for volunteers to: - be a film extra - be a crew member or runner - Caterers/cook....
AND THAT'S A WRAP! Proud to announce that our crowdfunding campaign closed at midnight last night. We made a VERY respectable $14, 710! An enourmous heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed and put their money where their mouth is in supporting exciting new voices on Australian screens, both in front of and behind the camera. Every cent will go towards making this film as beautiful as it deserves to be and a smooth, enjoyable shoot where all the artists can do their best work. I propose that instead of "low-budget", we coin a new term: "high risk". Because that's the reality - making films on a low budget and a smaller scale allows you to maintain artistic and creative control and to take risks - new voices, new angles, new audiences, new ways of telling stories. And crowdfunding is a truly democratic method of facilitating these sorts of films. We are all so touched by the support we have received and promise to deliver a film that will shake things up the way they needed to be shaken up. Finally, I just want to single out three people - Tammy Dang, Tavi Sharma and Alexander McGhee, who every day were brainstorming and posting ideas for content to get people's interest and motivate them to donate, who edited reels, fiddled with captions and aspect ratios and dealt with dumb questions from me about how to make things look good on Instagram. Thank you for having my back. Love BB

‘This is a video from my 7th birthday party. All I wanted to do was boss around my friends and make them act out a script I had typed and printed on old computer paper. It was called ‘The Upside-Down World.’ You can hear my father chuckling as he dutifully recorded the whole thing on his camcorder and took my ordering him around with good humour. Coincidentally, it’s my son’s 7th birthday this weekend.
Almost 30 years later, I’m about to direct my first feature film. Our crowdfunder to enhance our production CLOSES IN ONE DAY.’

Her chapter "The Eternal Dance" is a moving and deeply personal story about her own father's declining health and will give you a glimpse into the power of her storytelling and the strength of her cinematic voice. The stories from her fellow writers are equally as bold and searing. Don't miss it! 🔥

From page to table read: we were so fortunate to have Bankstown Poetry Slam alumnus Bellal Hassanein step in for the crucial role of Clyde in our table read. 🔥✨ In the script, Clyde is written as a 13 year old boy. Given the content of the script, we couldn't have a child present for the full table read but Bellal generously stepped in and gave an extraordinary performance as Anoushka and Pascal's angry, confused and instantly relatable eshay son. Thank you Bellal! 🔥
