Our inbox does a happy dance when a submission arrives from . It isn't a secret we're in love with her giftedness at photographing motherhood! We know we can count on images that are filled with emotion, that are timeless, and simply stunning. ​​​​​​​​

For Minnesota mom, Audrey, having a portrait session while on vacation in Clearwater Beach, Florida, was very important to her ~ They hadn't had family pictures done since their son was three weeks old. She wanted to have pictures of a place their family loves to hang in their home in Minnesota.​​​​​​​​

"I have a new appreciation for my own body and the bodies of all mothers. I did not love being pregnant, it wasn't easy or comfortable. However, what came from those experiences is life-changing in every way imaginable. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
The transformation of the female body to create new life is an absolute miracle. I will never tire of documenting such beauty. It may not feel so wonderful as our bodies stretch and pull and expand, but we are quite literally, growing another human. What a humbling gift and an immense responsibility to reconcile. It’s true that life is never quite the same after you have a child. ​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Somehow, through the hard, uncomfortable, and exhaustion, an evolution of nurturing, patience, and limitless love, breaks our hearts wide open. It becomes unfathomable to remember what life was like before this other heart was beating with our own." ​​​​​​​​

When this submission by came across our inbox, it was this image that stopped me. Those soulful, deep brown eyes clinging to her mommy's arm ~ though we can't see Mom's face, we know she's there and her presence fills the frame as she holds her sweet little girl closely.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
In years to come, this image will be a tangible reminder for mom that her precious daughter did fit just under the crook of her arm at one time. As that little grows, this image will also be a tangible reminder for her too ... mom's arms are always there to hold and to be an anchor in the sometimes choppy waters of growing up.​​​​​​​​
