Former Daniel James School in Swansea. I believe the school closed around 2011 and the building is sitting derelict on the outskirts of Swansea. The building is next to another abandoned School, Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Tirdeunaw which moved to a brand-new purpose-built school in the Penlan area a few years ago.

Lower Lliw Reservoir, a gorgeous walk.

The reservoirs lie within an area of stunning mountain scenery that characterises the Mawr, north of Swansea.

The lower and upper Lliw reservoirs are surrounded by a mosaic of habitats including bracken, scrub broadleaved woodland and the Biodiversity Action Plan priority habitat, lowland acid grassland. Both sites support a wide diversity of flora and fauna, many of which are considered rare. Birds spotted on site include: peregrine, kestrel, raven, wheatear, meadow pipit & skylark, whinchat, red kite, curlew.

Visited Manor House Wildlife Park today.

Very much enjoyed the visit (with the exception of a rude visitor who decided to shout at my 11-year-old daughter because she got stuck on a slide and couldn't get down quickly!)

Highly recommended, the animals are adorable there and well looked after, and the staff are very friendly!

Swansea Community Farm is the only City Farm in Wales. It is run by some fantastic volunteers and do some amazing work in educating children about sustainability and being eco-friendly.

Myself and my wife have taken our children there countless times and they have gone there as well as a part of their school activities and really enjoy seeing the animals that are kept there.

Fforestfach Retail Park - currently going through a bit of a rough patch with a decline in trade and many stores closing down favouring other local retail parks. Fforestfach Retail Park has seen its fair share of big names come, go and come again.

Recently, Next Clearance Outlet opened a store here after closing their store a few short years ago.

A recent departure is one I know very well, HomeSense which has now moved to Parc Trostre closed its doors on 31st March. Whilst I was at University I worked at Homesense between 2010-2012 and was part of the team that opened the store, so it was quite sad to see it close!

Tesco has sold/leased part of their car park to a McDonalds Franchise which will no doubt cause a lot of anti-social behaviour and cause a lot of parking difficulty for Tesco shoppers and increase the traffic on already congested roads. KFC opened opposite Tesco petrol station a few years ago so there is fast food competition going on here! I feel sorry for the residents of the housing estate nearby.

The old Walkers Crisp Factory - now occupied by Inca Creative.

Inca Creative say "We are a retail design and manufacture company based in London. For over 30 years, we have worked with some of the biggest names on the high street, creating innovative retail environments from concept to installation."

Since they have taken over the building, I can't ever recall seeing any activity there. It is one of those mysterious buildings that shouts out "Hidden in plain sight"

West Swansea Retail Park also known as Pontarddulais Road Retail Park and is mistakingly referred to as Fforestfach Retail Park.

B&M is taking over the occupancy of the former Argos and PC World / Currys units. I think once B&M opens its doors, this side of the retail park will be fully occupied once again after years of doors closing.

Its sister retail park, Fforestfach Retail Park on the opposite side of the carriageway is suffering from the same fate of businesses closing their doors leaving a number of large retail units empty.

The Wreck of the Helvetia, Rhosilli Bay The Helvetia was a Norwegian sailing ship that sank in 1887 after running aground on the beach during a storm. The crew were rescued by the local lifeboat, but the ship was abandoned and eventually became a popular tourist attraction. Over the years, the remains of the ship have become increasingly buried in sand, but it still draws visitors to the picturesque Rhossili Bay. Also, little known fact - there was another ship called the Helvetia which also sank in 1887 on the coast of Flamborough Head, England. What are the chances of that?
