The HBIC Project is an online interview series that highlights the incredible accomplishments of twenty-something women in media, business, the arts, tech, and more. These women might not be at the tops of their industries yet, but give them 10 years and they will be. We believe all women with big dreams, passion, and drive are worthy of celebration, not just the ones you see on TV. We're tired of
seeing powerful women portrayed as otherworldly or put on a pedestal -- not because they don't deserve it, but because a high-achieving woman shouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. The HBIC Project profiles women you want by your side during a business meeting by day and at your favorite bar by night. They are 50 percent role model, 50 percent best friend and 100 percent going places. At the bottom of each interview we provide their contact information, so feel free to reach out. The more we connect, the better our world will be.

Co-founders Madeleine Overturf and Hannah Orenstein met in a journalism class at NYU. They bonded over their Type A tendencies and favorite margarita bar and hit it off right away. They spent a year apart while studying abroad in Prague and Paris, respectively, but kept in touch by tweeting at each other and promising to buy matching HBIC nameplate necklaces. In June 2014, they launched The HBIC Project... and, yes, finally bought those necklaces.
