The CMU Literary Review, Colorado Mesa University’s in-house, student-run literary journal is now accepting submissions! We encourage poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and visual arts submissions from any and all students regardless of their field of study. Any student enrolled in a minimum of one 3 credit hour course may submit their work. Experimental poetry and fiction are accepted. What w
e are really looking for is subject matter that is exciting, deep, profound, chilling, exhilarating, emotional, and above all genuine. Submit one to two pieces of fiction, and up to three poems or works of art (in digital form only, please!) for consideration. Likely, if your work is chosen, we will select only one. Do be courteous and thoughtful with the length of your submissions. For example, please no epic poems or thirty page novel excerpts. Please. And don’t send us graphics that you wouldn’t show to your professor. That being said, we also do not want a hundred submissions of fruit in a bowl. Now the technical bits. We ask that you put your legal name, first and last, your 700 number, and the type of piece you are submitting (i.e. fiction, poetry, nonfiction, art) in the top left corner of EACH PAGE. We prefer electronic submissions to printed copies so we can all feel good about our contribution to the environment. In all seriousness, though, it makes organization so much easier. Include your email address if you do submit a hard copy and place your piece in the drop box outside of Angela Kimmel’s office in Escalante Hall (237). Please send your electronic submissions via email to [email protected] under the subject heading Submission. Similarly, those wishing to contact us for further information should also email us, under the subject heading Questions. Please email your submissions as attachments, and your art in .JPG format.
