It's been a while since I've posted. It's been a challenging year for me, with beginning to reinvent my life following the ending of my marriage. And taking some space from social media felt appropriate.
With my final farm season ending, I'm mourning the loss of that life a little bit. But I'm also trying to think positively about things moving forward. The farm took a lot of space in my life, and without it, that opens up more space for new things - like lifting my head up from the work and enjoying the view around me (see what I did with the picture there, lol).
I take away from the farm a new passion for the beauty of flowers, that I feel helps me expand my lifetime passion for growing. An ability to think about garden design in a more flexible way. Practical skills gained from the sheer volume of plants I've interacted with - I've got my 10k hours in now. A new appreciation for how manageable a task like moving a dump trucks worth of compost is. And, most of all, a love of bulk buying, lol.
Now that I can direct all my energy towards my own endeavors, I'm really excited about the work I have planned at my home this fall, before the snow flies. And I'm beginning to form a vision of what next year might look like. And as we move towards the darkest days of the year, one thing I know for sure, is that there is brightness and light in my future.
