The Los Angeles County Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Subcommittee is holding a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, July 21, from 1 pm to 4 pm. This is the same County Subcommittee that recommended that Camps Scott and Scudder serve as long-term facilities for serious juvenile offenders. It is the City's understanding that this is their first public meeting, even though the DJJ Plan has been fully developed and submitted to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Their attempt to have the DJJ Plan adopted by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors was delayed at the Board of Supervisors meeting on July 13, 2021, for two weeks, to the Board of Supervisors meeting on July 27, 2021.
Item 3 and 4 on the DJJ Subcommittee meeting agenda relate to the DJJ Plan, which includes the recommendation regarding Camps Scott and Scudder.
PLEASE NOTE: If you would like to make public comment during the upcoming and inaugural DJJ Subcommittee public meeting, you must submit a request to speak by sending an email to [email protected] with your name, item number you would like to speak on (Item #3 or #4), and your phone number. The meeting agenda also has information on how to submit a written comment.
