Silbad - Aspiration

I'm basking in the relative cool of the early hours here, as summer is set to return in force today, with temperatures expected to hit 97F/36C. But for now, the window is open, a breeze flowing, and the AC yet to be engaged. As luck would have it, the good folks of Silbad (out of St Petersburg, Russia) have seen fit to compose a perfect soundtrack for this particular moment in time. ZAKLADKI is a music producer and sound designer, resident of Hyperboloid Records, and TRAKTRAIN labels 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

In the project’s discography you can find a variety of rhythms and moods: from calm and melancholic ambient to fast and powerful Drum & Bass, sometimes mixed together in one track.

His music was released on Hyperboloid Records and over the past 10 years along with audio-visual Live concerts supported by vidjays Dzhezus, Standby and AT.VIS, as well as CGI studios Quantemp, Synticate and NEGATIVESPACE, collaborations with clothing brands such as Adidas Originals and CODERED.

Roller Coaster is the most mature and realized album to date, reworked and reassembled an inconceivable number of times over the past few years.

It reflects a palette of inner experiences: triumphs and crises, victories and defeats. Like a roller coaster, it will take the listener through cycles of ups and downs, because, perhaps, that’s how life works - “Ups and downs”, as the monks say.

The 8 tracks are like a series of 8 vessels carefully kept underground, each with its own character, flavor notes and depth of immersion, while having a common pattern leitmotif.

The album features three collaborations with artists such as INNERSTASIA, SSSpectral and Lo**ta Kox, with the latter we did a track together back in 2019. INNERSTASIA, apart from the fiery track “Liminal Space”, helped bring this release to its final form, for the last six months we’ve been working closely together and consulting each other on each track.

Silbad is the artist from St. Petersburg, he has been making music for over 10 years.
He focuses on making minimalistic, but at the same time detailed sound, to create a musical universe of many small references and details, recycled and buried among other sounds.

Silbad said:
“What I love most is when music takes you somewhere far away, creates a unique mood where it seems as if time doesn’t exist.”

The album was recorded in the fall and winter of 2023/24, and contains both very recent and fading memories that over time begin to feel like dreams.

“Personally, my music helps me both not to forget and to forget at the same time.
The last phrase of course probably sounds too pathetic, but I meant that over the years my own dreams and motifs from my youth are erased, and only a few things like music help me to remember them. And forgetting = dissolving into creativity.”

The magnum opus of Krasnodar-based producer and Fuselab founder Evgeny Shchukin aka FMSAO delves deeper into his sonic world through psychedelic dub, off-kilter dance music, and his signature lo-fi ambient pieces on the gargantuan two-hour album ‘Ультимэ (Ultimae)’.
