Staying the next two nights at an Air Force Recreation area near Flagstaff AZ. Was a little sketch getting the camper in here with all the trees but we made it happen. Was going to spend a week here and do some exploring but it’s getting into the low 30’s at night a few nights this week and Shannon ain’t having that! 🥶

Last couple days have been travel days with just overnight stops. 1st stop was a little sketchy campground near Amarillo. Then tonight at Kirtland Air Force Base near Albuquerque NM. Nice base campground full hook ups for $35. Even had a dog park for Harper and a Dog Washing station we took advantage of even though she wasn’t to thrilled to try it out😂. The scenery reminds me of Afghanistan though!

Staying at a Thousand Trails campground on Lake Texoma Tx. One of the nicest Thousand Trails parks we’ve been to so far.

Spending the Weekend at Barksdale AFB Louisana, campground. Kind of Sad to be away from the Salt Life for a bit but it’s all part of the Adventure! There’s a bunch of trails and lakes here and a dog park, so probably will get the e-bikes out and do some riding around and some fishing, and let Harper play at the dog park. I’ll have to add some fish pics once I catch a few giants! They have a pretty cool aircraft static display here and a little museum.

After 4 1/2 Months in Port Orange Fl we are back on the road again. Spending a few days at this nice Navy Recreation area near Pensacola, then slowing moving West towards California then up to Washington State. We added some E-bikes to our adventures. Stay tuned for updates as we continue our journey!

Not sure why but I couldn’t post these videos on my Canaveral Seashore post. Dolphin wouldn’t leave me alone at the fishing spot and the band that was playing at JB’s fish camp at lunch.

Took a quick trip down to Canaveral National Seashore today to check it out. Checked out a historic State House, which happened to be next to a fishing pier, and I just happened to have a rod with me so made a few casts and caught a few little speckled trout. 🎣 Then went to walk the beach, the sun was out but it was only about 65, I heard they had a N**e beach there but thought with the cooler temps they wouldn’t be out naked today. Well apparently two guys didn’t mind the wind and cool air blowing on their twig and berries as they laid out on beach chairs right next to the steps down to the beach! 🍆 As we were walking back to the car I warned a family that was headed down to the beach with a young daughter about the scenery down there and they promptly turned around and went further down the beach. Kind of crazy that a National Park has a n**e beach but hey whatever🤷🏼‍♂️ Stopped at the famous JB’s fish camp for lunch on the way home and sat outside and listened to a live band.

Decided to take a break from the road for a few Months, going to spend Dec-March in Port Orange Fl. Got some Dr appointments in and got Harper to the groomer. One of my friends, from the Marines, Dave Burnett, met up with us at our Campground and is staying here for a week. We’ve been out doing a little exploring, and fishing while he’s in town. We are camped right on the Water at Rose Bay RV resort and I’ve managed to catch a few fish right off our back yard. Went to Blue Springs where the Manatees migrate for the winter and saw over 500 of them. Had a couple drinks today at a local establishment and a dozen smoked Parmesan Oysters that were delicious!

Haven’t updated in a bit so just a quick update. We’ve been at a campground called Holiday Daytona, which is in Ormond Beach. Not a bad campground specially since we stayed for free for two weeks with our thousand trails membership. Lots of Canadian snowbirds camping here for 6 months. Also, ran into two other couple from Wood County, camping here, one from Rossford and one from Milbury. The one couple even knew lots of Shannon’s family. (Small World). There was a classic car show at Daytona Speedway with over 5000 classic cars and several were staying at our campground. It rained for two days straight the first couple days we were here which made lots of the campground a muddy mess. Then had a few nice days and got out and did some fishing and exploring. Then pretty cold for Florida last few days in the 40’s at night and 60’s last couple days. Spent thanksgiving with our daughter Tayler at her house in New Smyrna. Going to be in this area for a couple months so got our Dr/Dentist appointments shcheduled, got Harper into the groomers, and got some truck and camper maintenance scheduled. Moving to a different campground that we like in Port Orange today and will be stationary there for the Month of December.

Stopped at a very nice County Park campground in Georgia for 5 days. Checked out St Simon Island and the remains of an old British settlement and fort from the 1700’s. Of course did some fishing, both salt and freshwater but didn’t catch much, only a Largemouth and little Sea Bass. Took a few nice walks on the nature trails they had there. Harper was going crazy there with all the squirrels, rabbits and armadillos. On to Florida for the next couple months.

Spent a few days at a very nice Navy Recreation area that was part of JB Charleston. Visited the main base at Charleston, and mostly just hung out at the campground, did a little fishing.

Spent the last few weeks in NC. Stayed for a week with Shannon’s family, then went to a Campground near Chocowinity NC. Did a little hiking and of course some fishing but mostly just relaxed. Also went and checked out Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and Camp Lejune(didn’t drink the water though😜)

Just a few pics from last week, stayed at the Campground on JEB Little Creek. Didn’t do a whole lot, went to VA Beach one day and walked the boardwalk, saw tons of dolphins. (If you zoom in on the beach pics you can see some fins). Visited some friends we haven’t seen in years. And checked out several other bases in the nearby area. And did some fishing of course!

Shannon went to the fishing platform at our campground tonight to watch while I tried to get Virgina off the list on my 50 state fish catching mission. While she’s standing there playing on her phone, one of my rods gets a bite and she picks it up and reels in a little spot croaker. I didn’t catch a damn thing! Now, I can put up with her whooping on me in Bowling once in a while but to outfish me crosses the line! 👎🏻👊 we saw lots of deer, with a couple nice bucks, and some foxes on the way back to the camper.

Didn’t do a lot this week. Stayed at Dover AFB famcamp. Went to the AMC Museum right next to our campground and checked out some cool planes. Went to a local park and walked a few miles and grabbed some geocaches, and hit up the base bowling alley for a few games when the weather wasn’t that great. Shannon said no drinks so that threw off my usual great bowling skills🤣 🎳. The downside to staying on Air Force Bases is it can get a little noisy from time to time! ✈️

Staying at a really nice Navy recreation center in Solomon’s island Maryland for a few days. Pretty nice place, has to be the biggest campground I’ve been to, they have 3 pools, beach, a Marina with boat rentals, driving range, mini golf, a couple dog parks, lots of different cabins for rent, and a fishing pier. Any of my military friends looking for a trip in Maryland. I recommend this place! Did a little exploring and went and checked out the Naval Air Station nearby and went to a State Park today and got a 4 mile walk in.
