I grew up watching Looney Tunes, so getting to build a TikTok game for this year's ACME Fools campaign was a privilege that I don't take for granted. This launched a few weeks ago and I still can't believe I worked on this.

A little news—I'm one of a very small batch of folks who've been accepted into the TikTok Effect House Accelerator Program. I'll be working directly with the best of the best at TikTok to help create the next generation of effects. This won't mean a lot to you, but being part of the 0.02% of people accepted is pretty neat. :)

“So, what’s next?”

Announcing that I was retiring from photography was one of the better things I’ve done recently, but it also led to some pretty confused conversations.

I’ve noticed that lately, it’s increasingly difficult for businesses and creators to stand out from the masses, especially when it comes to reaching Gen Z and millennials on TikTok. So, instead of teaching people how to find ways to game the system and squeeze the most they can out of it, I’ve been focusing on breaking it. 😈

Organic user-generated content AND using fun as a sales tool doesn’t need to be difficult.

I'm retiring as a photographer.

Photography was something I fell in love with accidentally. As a 17-year-old, my favorite class in high school was an elective that encompassed 3D modeling and architecture, mostly because my I got to hang out with my best friend, Sean, and it was taught by my favorite teacher, who was the type of guy that would start a friendly conversation with a cashier at a gas station.

My best friend was exceptional at 3D modeling and could study an object then flawlessly create a virtual facsimile of it in no time at all. I, on the other hand, couldn’t build my way out of wet cardboard box. So when a national competition was laid at our feet, it seemed like something we’d like to try to work on together, but we’d have to get creative about it.

Pretty devastated to learn this morning of the loss of Kelly Corless from Antler Ridge Wildlife Sanctuary. She lit up every room that she was in, and I don't think I've come across as many people as kind as she was. She'll be missed!

For the first time in nine years, I did a major rebuild of my website. Switching platforms, rebuilding tons of dependent and broken content, and making a goal to keep it updated with all the projects that I'm ACTUALLY working on (not 3 year old posts that are updated once a year).

With the new website comes a slight rebrand—I realized that a lot of the projects that I work on don't necessarily fall within the scope of photography, so I usually opt not to share them here because my assumption is that you're here for the photography I've shared for the last ten years. I realized that this assumption is just that, and I'd like to honor that enlightenment by sharing projects that made me happy to be a part of. Hopefully that joy will translate and you'll appreciate them, too. 🙂

Anyway, feel free to stroll around the new site if you wish. I've got lots of new projects up, a handful of new blogs (and more in the works), a new shop that I have absolutely no idea how to use yet, and if you see anything broken, blame my webmaster... who may or may not be me. 😅
