I haven't taken part in Record Store Day for a few years now (an expensive business!) but a limited edition CD release this year really caught my eye: the BBC Radiophonic Workshop's "Inventions for Radio" compiled, produced and mastered by Mark Ayres.

Although initially put off by the price (actually, the set is extremely good value) what finally persuaded me to take the plunge was learning that many of the interviews which form part of the IfR soundscapes were conducted through the Hornsey Old People's Welfare Council - Hornsey is where I grew up.

So, thanks to Vinyl Guru in Newcastle, I am now the proud owner of this excellent box set!
