I wrote this piece during the summer while I was still digital nomading and before the world went insane.

The least important thing to read right now but if you’re so inclined, please feel free.

Society wastes its time patronising women, warning us about how dangerous the world is, instead of telling the men who make the world unsafe to stop

Baby's first podcast!!🎉🎉

Thank you to the wonderful Diya Nadeem at Helping Her for having me on to talk all things feminism💗

We discussed handling criticism when talking about feminism online, what I think some of the most pressing feminist issues are, and what are some ways to foster productive understanding between the various parties in the fight for gender equality💪🏻

Listening to the episode back just now, I would say that this podcast is great for anyone who maybe thinks they're not doing enough to achieve gender equality or they're not seeing change fast enough. I've become a lot nicer to myself in recent years in terms of what I'm capable of doing while still protecting my peace and energy and having a nice life where I'm happy (because what is a fight for gender equality if none of us is happy at the end?) so if you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed at the state of the world, I'd recommend a listen💛

Please let me know if you do and what your main takeaway was🙏🏻

Myself and Roxanna Azimy co-authored a piece on the Amber Heard Johnny Depp trial looking at misogyny, the court of public opinion, feminist backlash, violence and much more more.

Our aim was to create a fairly balanced piece taking into account a lot of different perspectives and showcasing the different nuances at play within this very public trial.

Would love if you had a read - let me know your thoughts!

Debunking myths around domestic and gender-based violence is critical to spreading awareness about what is still a rampant and widely misunderstood issue.

Catch the replay of the Women in Dev webinar I moderated last week on the types of Gender Based Violence (GBV) you don't hear about often. We talk about breast ironing, sexual violence in incarceration settings, honour killings and more.

It's a genuinely brilliant conversation packed with so much so would highly recommend a watch!

The lives, experiences, and concerns vary greatly between women and gender-diverse people around the world - but the one thing they, unfortunately, have in c...

It’s been a while since I’ve uploaded a video (life, ugh, etc etc) but we’re back this week with 8 tips for women who are on the job hunt!

We’re talking about the curse of only applying for jobs that you’re 100% qualified for, we’re talking about getting specific with your job search, and we’re talking about the ‘hidden job market’ - it’s wild. Plus loads more!

So, buckle in if you’re a woman on the job search and do absolutely get in touch if you want to chat about this some more!

I am officially a proud *not crazy* cat lady hehehe😸

This is for all the cats AND women everywhere who aren’t liked simply because they know who they don’t want touching their bodies without their express permission💅🏻

And this is for all the cats and women who have had that boundary pushed.

We should all be more like cats and not give a f**kkkk if people like us or not👊🏻😂

And anyone who doesn’t like cats (read: people who have a consent problem) can politely f**k off😂

Happening tomorrow!

I will be giving a talk on Careers in Feminism with UCC Feminist Society. I will be talking about my own personal experience with 'feminist careers' without having a piece of paper that says you have a degree in gender studies. I'll be talking about making your own feminist career and making whatever situation you're currently in a feminist one.

I'm super super passionate about this so if you're worried about any of the above, please do consider joining and I'm 100% certain you'll get something out of it! Or you'll get your money back haha lol it's free so no excuse not to join😂

Hope to see some of you there💛

More info on the other wonderful speakers below!

Date and Time: Tuesday 21st at 7.30PM Irish time // 8.30PM CEST

I can’t believe I haven’t made this video before but here we are giving you 8 reasons why you should call yourself a feminist! Even if you already do, I think you’ll still benefit from this video to give you even more gumption if you’re still feeling a little self conscious or need a reminder!

The word feminist gets a bad rap (not because it’s bad but because people don’t like when women know their worth lol). But there are so many good reasons to call yourself a feminist - everything from just normalising it to honouring those that fought for the rights we take for granted now and rights that many others still don’t have.

Watch and let me know which reason you most resonate with and if you can think of any more!

You’ve heard of the glass ceiling but have you heard of the glass cliff?

The glass cliff is the phenomenon of women in leadership roles, such as executives in the corporate world and female political election candidates, being likelier than men to achieve leadership roles during periods of crisis or downturn, when the chance of failure is highest.

Researchers Michelle Ryan and Alexander Haslam coined the term back in 2005 when they unveiled a disturbing tendency for women to be appointed the leaders of failing ventures.

I’m talking more about what it is and how it shows up in the world, possible reasons why this happens (aside from the obvious that the world just hates women), four high-profile examples, some of which you’ve definitely heard of, and what we can do about it!

Let me know what you think and I would love it if you subscribed while you’re there!

What are some of the things making periods a negative thing in this world? What are some of the things making periods a positive thing in this world? I talk you through both and why they're important if we're to have safe, healthy, sustainable, and non-stigmatised periods!

This week we’re talking about breastfeeding!!

As a feminist I’m fascinated by this topic because (as with everything else) we’re shamed FOR breastfeeding and shamed for NOT breastfeeding.

We’re shamed for “exposing” ourselves in public to feed hungry babies and then we’re shamed for using breastmilk substitutes because it’s not what’s “natural.”

I could literally talk about this all day but I sum it all up in about 14 minutes in this video😂

Of course I don’t touch on every aspect of this ‘debate’ but I touch on some really interesting points so please do watch and let me know what you think!!

And please do subscribe so you get notified of my videos when they go live hehe

Ever wonder why one woman may slt shame another woman or even herself? Or ever hear the phrase "I just prefer to be friends with guys"? These are just two examples of what could be internalised misogyny. We’re talking what exactly it is in this week's video, more examples of it in real life, why it’s detrimental if we're to achieve true gender equality and what we can all do to help!

The purpose of this video is to alert you to your own internalised misogyny so that you can not only be nicer to others but, most importantly, be nice to yourself!

I made a video on this topic - how sexism was showing up in full force during this pandemic with regards to pregnancy - a few months ago but I was delighted to also write about it for Stories to Action's website💛

I'm super passionate about how the pandemic has exposed and exacerbated so many already present double standards in our society and this is only one that just grinds my gears.

Would love if you had a read💛
