Things have been busy over here in the Smoky Mountains.
For those that didn't know...I was hired by the city of Pigeon Forge. What started out as a "just Killin time" job turned into a 3 year stint.
Being close to my son and his family has been fun....but,
the time has come to head back to New Mexico and the Sandia Mountains.
Once settled, watch for more content from me.
I'm busy packing and giving away my flowers and books I've collected.
I'm excited to start another phase.....

At the end of February 2024, Apple began charging small businesses an additional 30% on Facebook and Instagram posts we boost on any mobile Apple device.

So say you log into the Facebook app on your iPhone.

You create a post and absolutely LOVE the way your products look. You love it so much that you want more people to see it, so you click the Boost button and select to pay $10 for that Boosted post.

Only now, instead of paying $10 for that post, you'll be paying $13.

Ten dollars will go to Meta and $3 will go to Apple.

This additional 30% won't get you better results or more Reach. It's simply a surcharge imposed by Apple.

You know I always caution AGAINST boosting posts.
Today only 4.2% of your followers on Instagram and only 1.98% of your followers on Facebook will see your organic (free) posts.

When you look at a post you worked so hard on, and see a couple of reactions and zero comments, panic sets in.

It's tempting to Boost that post in hopes of getting more eyes on your products or services.

Aside from now paying 30% more, the problem with Boosted posts is that your posts are "shotgunned" out to anyone on the platform during the time period your Boost is scheduled - not necessarily to the users who are in the mindset to buy or even known to purchase products or services similar to yours.

Meta will soon remove a feature that lets you chat with Facebook friends on Instagram. Starting mid-December, the company will disconnect the cross-platform integration, which it added in 2020. It didn’t provide a reason for doing so, but, as 9to5Google speculates, avoiding regulatory consequences in the EU sounds like a logical motive.

You may have thought that it’s the other way around – that you have to commit to a decision before you act on it.
