Urban Sound of Amsterdam Recordlabel since 1991 Urban Sound of Amsterdam is probably one of the oldest, still active, houselabels on the planet. Openminded, upfront, fresh, NOW!

It all started in 1991, but it took over a year, before releasing it’s first 12” in march 1993 by Movin’ Melodies called ‘P.A.R.T.Y.’ This track was an instant success internationally and was the blueprint for a string of big club and crossover hits up untill 2001, including a worldwide top 3 hit with Kadoc ‘The Nighttrain’. Lots of big names produced under their own name as well as under aliases

for the label. Orlando Voorn, Steve Rachmad, Patrick Prins and Olav Basoski were only a few of them. With over hundred vinyl-releases in those days, it became a well-respected label with dozens of amazing releases. Between 2002 and now Urban Sound of Amsterdam has had several new start ups, but at the beginning of 2014, we can say that the label is back on the block! Old releases will be made available in 320 kbps and wav format on all major platforms. In the meanwhile the label will be working on new releases, of which the first tunes will see the light of day by May this year. Urban Sound of Amsterdam stands for sounds from the street! reissues will be released with the 3 stars logo! New releases will be released with the crown and 2 stars logo! Legendary houselabel Urban Sound of Amsterdam signed so many tracks in the early 90's that some of them, just didn't get released. After a fire at the offices of US of A, tapes got lost/burned. Luckily most artists kept a copy of those finished/signed tracks. Michiel Klooster (TMX Project) was one of them, so we are now able to give those tracks he made and signed to the label back then, finally their well deserved digital release. Old school tunes, that still sounds fresh after a new mastering session! Part Four consists of two tracks, called "Visions" and "Sequential Touch". Both tracks have that distinctive 90s feel of Red Jerry, Felix, Movin Melodies, Hooj Choons and Patrick "hardbag" Prins a.o.

Finally available again!! The first compilation is back online!
TECHNO with Capitals from the Capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam. Urban Sound of Amsterdam has a large back-catalogue dating back to the beginning of the 90's. It was time to compile some of those pearls, to show the world what people danced to then.... and NOW, because it also has some current monster-tunes on it, by amongst others, legendary techno-king Orlando Voorn. Urban Sound of Amsterdam is still on point and ready for the future!

Vertical Invader "Hear It Come" is now finally available as stream as well.
Vertical Invader started out in 1997 as an experimental group to enter into the breakbeat, nuskoolbreaks, big beat scene. The first 12" and later the album were released on Urban Sounds, an offshoot of Urban Sound of Amsterdam. Later on it got re-released on Urban Sound of Amsterdam as well.
