1) Here at Prose Poems, we like a lot of things: prose, poems, prose poems, moths, but we also like antique sales, thrift shops, you name it. We also like paying our writers. I'm combining those interests by putting up some of my notable, neat antique finds on our eBay page.

2) All proceeds will go to the authors (paying them!) and the magazine (ads!). The first item we've got is pretty neat and it should appeal to the . It's THE PERSONALITY OF THE CAT. It's a hardcover from 1958. It's in great shape, albeit a bit of wear and tear.

(3) And better yet, it had a BONUS letter in it--from 1964!--and a pamphlet (about cats, what else) from the same timeframe. It also includes a vintage Doubleday Books vintage ad. It's neat!

This vintage book from 1958 titled "The Personality of the Cat" is a must-have for any cat lover. Edited by Brant Aymar and published by Bonanza, this hardcover book is in good shape. There is a bit of damage to one edge of the dust jacket (it is folded a bit). See photos for details! illustrated...

Hi, Left Hooks Fans. You'll notice that we changed our name! Left Hooks has been defunct for a while, but I've started a new online venture, Prose Poems, dedicated to brief prose poems, short-shorts, and flash fiction. Left Hooks flamed out because I over committed. This one has a better publishing model, for me, and it should be more sustainable. I'm printing four poets each issue, and releasing one issue a month. I'm only releasing issues in the winter months here in MN, as I'm pretty busy from spring-summer (looking for bugs or hiking).

I'm paying each poet ($10 for each poet), and for those who decline, I'll put it in a slush fund to use on the magazine or pay our writers. The magazine is online, for now, but I'm thinking of doing some broadsides.

We just released our first issue, and it features Mark Vinz, Daniel Pinkerton, Dag Straumsvåg (in translation with Robert Hedin), and Jeffrey Hecker. You can see it here, and submit work here:

Prose Poems is a literary magazine dedicated to prose poems: paragraph-length poems that are decidedly the weird kids of the poetry world. But they are also, like many weird kids, delightful and moving and profound. And funny. Judge for yourself!
