Manchester-based DJ Lawless brings the energy and enthusiasm of the new generation of breakbeat music lovers. Exposure to the quintessential breakbeat music nights like Metalheadz, Rupture and Ako Beatz drove Lawless to explore the legacy of myriad artists for whom those nights carry the proverbial torches. As a result, cornerstones of Lawless’ vinyl collection include Kemet records, Myor Massive, Future Retro, Scientific Wax, Green Bay Wax, and Deep Jungle.

Enamored of all styles of music beyond breakbeats, the historic sounds of reggae, dubstep, and soul are among his favorites. Naturally, a fascination with soundsystem culture emerged. Lawless reminisces, “I reckon Sinai is my favorite at the moment; I remember being on the Rupture stage in the rain on the last night of Outlook just getting absolutely rattled by it”.

Getting a start with his mate Ratso at a night called Riddim Central, Lawless launched headfirst into pushing the modern Jungle sound around Margate and Ramsgate. With a grip on the pulse of the local scene Lawless inevitably found Jack Rapture and his show Lucidity on Jungletrain. With thanks for Jack Rapture’s recommendation, Jungletrain is excited to welcome Lawless to the station! South London mixologist MagiQ got his start in 1989 playing hardcore and rave music during the infancies of what would become the golden eras of Jungle and Drum and Bass. Tending toward the more electronic sounds of the movement, MagiQ landed a sound engineering gig at the legendary Renegade Hardware/Trouble On Vinyl recording studio in 1997 leading to the release of one of his tracks, “Parametrix” (as Vertex) on Renegade Hardware’s 1999 CD version of “Quantum Mechanics”. Having played many of London’s premier venues and hosted shows on several pirate radio stations such as Don FM, Underground FM and Flex FM, MagiQ’s influence and nurturing of the breakbeat music that brings our community together is undeniable.

Exposure to such diverse music through the many movements of electronic music and surrounding scene compelled MagiQ to investigate the art of crafting long, energetic mixes that guide the listener through a seamless journey. Expect MagiQ’s selections to always be rolling, always deep, and always inspire you to move. From hard as nails amen choppage to rolling B-Boy breaks, MagiQ has you covered.

Representing Dublin, Ireland since the 90’s as an early purveyor of fine drumfunk music, the station proudly welcomes Polska aboard the train!

First appearing in 1998 on PowerFM's “The Clockers Show”, Polska’s pursuit of recherché breakbeat music landed him a residency at the legendary Bassbin nights, where he and Con supported a who’s-who cast of jungle legends; Paradox, Alpha Omega, Doc Scott, and 4 Hero to name a few.

This lead Polska to an encounter one night with Beta2, where they connected over music production and Polska received a copy of FastTrackerII. From there, Polska began to develop his own style of drumfunk - vibes that soothe, yet groove.

After a few years of experimentation and iteration, he would land his first EP with Inperspective Records, following up with releases on Subtle Audio Recordings, Counter Intelligence, and most recently, Asterizm Records (big ups Kev!).

So be sure to tune into his new show, "Skeptic Tank", and leave your doubts at the door as Polska takes you on a 90 minute journey into the realms of drumfunk and beyond.
