As Papua New Guineans, our chances of success in sports and music are limited. Only a small percentage about less than 5 percent, are fortunate enough to achieve success and sustain their lives through sports and music.

In countries like the United States or Australia, musicians and sportspeople often become millionaires. Unfortunately, this is not the case in Papua New Guinea.

It's important to carefully consider our career choices when planning our future, as we are responsible for shaping our own destinies 🇵🇬

In Australia, they have strict rules for protecting their plants and animals. When they build roads and bridges, they can't cut down trees for no reason. They usually dig them up and plant them again.

When I think about my own country, Papua New Guinea, we cut down forests and trees without much care. We need to look after our plants and animals for the future.🇵🇬🇵🇬

We’ve planted hundreds of small gum trees in the Adelaide Hills after the fires.

Todays job was to go around watering them. I fertilisered them yesterday ready to water in the fertaliser today.

To wake up to it pouring with rain is a blessing.

Saved me a job !

Day off thanks to MOTHER NATURE !!

The Obstacle In Our Path (Opportunity):
_______________________________________

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. He then hid himself and watched to see if anyone would move the boulder out of the way. Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.

Many people loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none of them did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

A peasant then came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to push the stone out of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.

After the peasant went back to pick up his vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been.

The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King explaining that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

Moral of the story:
Every obstacle we come across in life gives us an opportunity to improve our circumstances, and whilst the lazy complain, the others are creating opportunities through their kind hearts, generosity, and willingness to get things done.

University Life: A Rollercoaster of Emotions😔

Our journey through university has been nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster. Those of you who've walked this path with me can undoubtedly relate to the myriad of feelings, from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs. University life they call it, it's a journey we've all embarked on together.

We came from diverse backgrounds, each with a singular purpose: to seek knowledge and education. Some of us ventured far from home, while others never left, but this shared journey has opened our eyes to the uncharted territories of experience❤️‍🩹🫂🌍🏫.

The moment we first set foot within those university gates marked the beginning of our University life saga. We forged a new culture, a new way of life. Our lifelines were intricately woven with friendships, some of which became like family, and others, the closest of friends. Some walked beside us for only a short while, while others remained constants. These were the glory days. We endured, encountered challenges, and, of course, savored every moment of our friendships. We built, we cried, we shared a smoke, a betel nut, a biscuit, and a cola. These might seem like ordinary moments, but they were the beautiful threads that wove our true friendships🫂😞.

As we navigated this turbulent journey, we learned, we lost, but through it all, these were the best days of our lives. Now, as we stand on the brink of the next chapter, we can't help but feel the void left by the part of ourselves we're leaving behind. Those shared moments of happiness may never repeat, but we'll replay them in our minds like cherished memories.

To those who walked this path with us, 👬👫🧑‍🤝‍🧑 whether you're a junior, a senior, or just a fellow traveler, know that you are deeply cherished and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Life will take us in different directions, but the kindness you shared with us will remain etched in our souls💔😔.

Years down the line, we may have made new friends, started families, and carved out new lives, but the photographs we took will always transport us back to those exact moments we cherished. One day, our children will stumble upon these pictures and ask, "Who are these people?" The sentimental amongs us will have tears welling up as we reply, "These are the people with whom I had the best time of my life with" 🫂😔😥.

To our friends and family, you are not just appreciated; you are treasured beyond words.
Thankyou for this wonderful journey🥺😌.

PMJM on the sentencing of Paul Paraka today:

This outcome is reflective of the reach of law enforcement. I encourage the Police to go after those who were beneficiaries of the proceeds of crime and corruption too, whether on this 2012 case or other matters. Money trails exist so Police please follow the money trail. I want to commend faithful police and other officers of law including those who worked in task force sweep!

Meanwhile, hat off to the man [and his team] who did a marvellous job when the Task Force Sweep was fully operational.

It took us 1 year to conduct the investigation. Commenced the prosecution process with the arrest 10 years ago. After many interruptions and delays, the final verdict and sentence were done. Another fruit of the work we did under Task Force Sweep.

~Sam Koim on the sentencing of Paul Paraka.
