Geordies in the Philippines This group is created for Geordies living and working in the Philippines. We're open to other suggestions and ideas from other members as well.

In the past years there are more Brits in the Philippines because of inter-marriages, and more Europeans coming to live, work and do business in the Philippines. Now, I find that it is time to have a free group for Geordie's since more have settled in the Philippines. Grordie's in the Philippines’ aim is to bring together Brits from Tyne and Wear living and working in the Philippines. This is a gr

oup that meets and acts as a group/club that can freely dicuss matters from home and here in the Philippines. We would like to be a support group to all members and newbie Geordie's in the country. Members must be either Geordie or a GF/Wife/BF/Hubby of a Geordie from Tyne and Wear and must be living in the Philippines or any other Geordie's Married to a Filipina living in England. We are on occasions flexible on the location of people, when they are up front and give a good reason why they want to join. The reason for this rule is simple as an expat living here many local girls will target you and we don’t want this to be a dating site, there are plenty of them and we didn’t want another. The other reason is often members let off steam about things that have happened to them and this can involve some banter, not usually meant to be hurtful. Locals can take exception at jokes which they are the butt of, by nature Filipinos are proud and they are not overly happy with expats say derisory comments about them. As such, and with the help of the members, we are hoping the following activities will happen:

1. Giving advice and guidance were possible or requested, there is so much knowledge locked up in the groups members waiting to be given when requested.

2. Sharing helpful ideas such as how we can watch British TV shows in the country or the feasibility of bringing BBC Entertainment here and exploring possibilities of implementing these ideas.

3. Meet ups with members of the group both locally (as often as they want) and nationally (perhaps once a year) to build and strengthen camaraderie among members. This is to make members feel more "at home" even when they are living in a foreign country.

4. For personal matters, please PM the individual or PM the ADMINS.
