2 Rollovers in the park! Snow is no joke be careful out there!

An update from ❄️

“The weekend is almost here, and with it comes more snow!

A winter warning is expected to go into effect on Saturday with over 30 inches of snow in the forecast. For anyone with plans to visit the parks, tire chains or cables will be required to enter. Drivers are responsible for knowing when conditions warrant applying their chains, and in case of an accident, should also be aware that tow trucks do not generally come up during active snowstorms.

During last week's storm there were multiple vehicle incidents. One vehicle in 4WD rolled over. Another with tire chains on rolled over and off the roadway. The contributing factors were speed and ice/snow on the roadway. Driving in an active snowstorm is not recommended.

During this time of year, we recommend always calling our visitor information line prior to visiting for the most current road conditions at (559) 565-3341 (dial 1,1).”

Stunning
tbh it looks kinda blah in photos but in person it’s shimmering skin and scale is simply jaw dropping. A feat of engineering it is the tallest U.S. monument and the tallest stainless steel monument in the world at 630 feet tall. A monument to westward expansion its sci-fi minimalism is timeless and just cool af. It’s probably the only monument that can be described with a math equation - a hyperbolic cosine function in the shape of a catenary - Yes please look it up!

Did you also notice the Sun Halo? Yes that’s a phenomenon caused by the sunlight refracting in the ice crystals in high altitude cirrus clouds. Yea google that too! lol 😂

Thanks to my bros for making this cross country trip so memorable and fun. PANN America II coming in 2023. Oh La LA!

Who’s going to Dark Sky Festival on Sep 24 by It’s a FREE event with Key Note Speaker Kate Gunderson, who is an aerospace engineer & test pilot, presentations by CalTech, the Movie “Saving the Dark” and a “Star Party” with amateur astronomers with telescopes for you to view stars, planets, moons, and galaxies.

Night Camp is a pretty special time, these photos are from our trip to Albuquerque NM and Kings Canyon. We love staying up, making fire, lighting up camp, drinking whiskey, and having as much fun as possible.
