Latest from Frankie McCabe!

🐊🧙‍♀️ Please welcome the "Swamp Witch" music video (featuring 1 of 12 songs on Steve Wheeler and my upcoming debut Pigeon Town Hoochers album, "Late Bloomer")

https://youtu.be/6NMoC00IZN8 (please give it some like/save/comment/share love on YouTube as well as here!)

It's true that I have fallen out of love with music video/filmmaking and really don't have the time for it anymore, but I was grateful when Grid Margraf came to a PTH show in Colfax, CA and asked if I had a song I'd like some help from him and director of photography, Shane Mausome, in making a video for.

'Cause it was no question which one I'd pick. "Swamp Witch" features some of the last sitar played/recorded by the wonderful, late Mike Seeba (captured by my good friend Rob Holland🎙️) Seeba’s duo with trumpet player, Mike Baker, was named Swamp Tuxedo; which, Seeba and I knew made for some redundancy in the title. But I already had the protagonist and some details around her set in stone before we even met up to decide the chord progressions together, and we both ended up liking the simple, on-the-nose charm of just calling this song "Swamp Witch".

Mike Seeba was the one to teach me the basics of video editing, so I really owe him a lot of gratitude for helping me get started telling all those stories I had in me, building some much-needed confidence in the process. He was a blessing to so many people, and it was important for me to have this song out there where people who love him could enjoy this little glimmer of his magic.

As for this still shot - yes, the lead actor Mekayla Kish and I really did get in 30-40 something degree water in November. Gotta suffer for your art sometimes 🥶

Happy Friday friends & fam. So this is a pretty messed up music video but it's from the heart. And those are demo vocals and a rough mix btw; I completely plan to get this track sounding snappy for the altrock solo album it's going on. But alas, I am getting ahead of myself and that album is pretty far back in the queue. Still need to wrap the Frankie McCabe & The Pigeon Town Hoochers old timey folk album as well as the experimental pop album, Monkeyote, I've got in the works, to name a couple.

At the heart of the narrative lies the enigmatic disappearance of a NASA Ark spaceship tasked with the monumental mission of colonizing Mars. When the spacecraft vanishes without a trace, Maverick, a private aerospace company, ventures into the depths of space on a clandestine quest to uncover the truth.
