Late-1940s to early-1950s Heuer Ref. 2548 "Datocompax"

A lovely triple calendar chronograph, powered by the awesome Valjoux Cal. 72c!

1960s Wittnauer 235T w/ Valjoux 72 ⌚️

In the 1960's, NASA tested 3 chronograph watches to go to the moon. The Rolex 6238, the Omega Speedmaster, and a Wittnauer. For decades, it was believed that the Wittnauer tested was the 242T. It was only recently revealed that the watch tested was actually a pre-professional 235T like this one 🚀🚀👨‍🚀

While the Omega Speedmaster was ultimately chosen to go to the moon, I find this piece to be a much more beautiful and interesting watch.

Did NASA choose wrong? 🤔🤔

This example features a clean dial and original, unrestored hands with creamy lume to match 😍 Additional bonuses include a signed crown, UNPOLISHED CASE, and the legendary Valjoux Caliber 72 inside 🥵🥵

The Wittnauer 242T 🚀👨‍🚀😍

I'd wager one of the nicest examples in the world 🌎

Many believe this was the 3rd watch tested by NASA to go to the moon. Some say it was actually the Wittnauer Ref. 235T... Both incredible watches that I'd gladly wear to space.

Powered by the Valjoux 72 with an untouched dial and gorgeously lumed hands and indicies that have turned a creamy orange. This example even comes on a Wittnauer BOR Bracelet 😍

I honestly can't put into words how much I adore this watch 😍🥰😍🥰

This is the Ebel Sport Classic Ref. 1134901

This watch has several very impressive distinctions, including being worn by on Miami Vice! (Albeit on a Wave Bracelet)

This watch was created during the early 1980s, during the Quartz Crisis, a time when Zenith wasn't making mechanical watches. Ebel, knowing Zenith still had the tooling for their legendary Cal. 400, requested Zenith manufacture the movements for them for this watch. Some say a move that saved Zenith from bankruptcy.

A few years later, Rolex would also purchase the same movements for the first Automatic Daytona, the Ref. 16520. (NOTE: The new Daytona at this time cost less than this Ebel 😅😅)

This particular example has very rare applied golden indicies to match the solid gold bezel and crown.

Not a bad resume; and it would have to have, considering it retailed for (an inflation-adjusted) $14k USD back in the 1980s 🤑🤑

While not my usual sort, I am absolutely in love with this piece 🥰

I was even able to source it locally! The stories this watch must have 🔥🔥🔥

1950s Enicar Ultrasonic Seapearl 600 🤿🤿

Not sure how this is still available. I've practically sold this twice now, only for the buyer to back out at the last moment.

This extremely distinctive dive watch was created for the US Navy in the early 1950s and went toe-to-toe with the likes of the Fifty Fathoms and the Submariner, losing the contract to the Sub for not having a rotating bezel. While I understand the practicality, I must say the uniqueness of this case is a worthwhile tradeoff for me 🔥🔥🔥
