Her Color Shines Speaking Event
Thinking back to my wonderful time at Indiana State University! I was invited to share my journey of grief, healing and empowerment for the "Her Color Shines" awards ceremony. I'm still thankful to the ISU & Omicron Delta Kappa teams who welcomed me during Women's History Month. Here's a quick recap of the night!
How about some art and a good book (by me)? 😉 You can now find "On the Other Side of Everything" at the Museum of Wisconsin Art. Tour the exhibits, and then stop by the gift shop to pick up your copy of my book. 😀 Thank you MOWA for the opportunity! Music Credit: Infraction, "Let Me Know"
A major part of my job is editing audio -- specifically "imaging" or internally created station branding. This one was fun to do so I decided to make a QUICK video. 😀 Note: not all imaging is the same. Also, shoutout to Splice for its massive sound library! This part of media is newer to me but it's been amazing just learning and creating.

Tonight, A&E is telling the powerful, tragic story of the death of Sgt. Tyrone Hassel, III. His wife and her boyfriend, also in the military, plotted his murder which happened on New Year’s Eve 2018. I’m honored to continue speaking about Sgt. Hassel alongside his family, and investigators. The episode, American Justice, airs tonight at 9pm CST, with next day streaming. Check your local listings.
Update! I got a chance to see inside the new “Community Within The Corridor” apartments today. Wow. 😮 There’s been SO much progress since I covered the build for #CBS58 last year (June 2021)!!
"I had a safe abortion, and was grateful for it." -- Congresswoman Gwen Moore talks with me about her personal experience with abortion in the 1970s -- before #RoevWade was enacted. Watch CBS 58 at 5p for her response to efforts to overturn the law, and where #Wisconsin stands.
My photog Brooks doesn’t have to worry about this “good wind” that Justin has been talking about all morning.
My hair is too big for a beanie, but good morning to y’all. ✌🏽
#Milwaukee has a new mayor. Voters elected Cavalier Johnson Tuesday night. He’s the city’s first, elected, #Black leader.
“My calling is service. I’m a son of this city. We must continue our work.”
Okay, so we’ve agreed -- we're going to Summerfest, right?
Let me know which artist you're going to see.
And note: there will be no #COVID protocols in place this year.
Watch below.
