Meet Milo This week our featured pet is Milo, a medium-sized, male doggy – about 2 years old. Milo is white with a few dark markings around his muzzle. He was abandoned at the shelter one Sunday morning. Milo is a bit underweight. He is receiving nutritious food and supplements and is being treated for Ehrlichiosis - a disease that develops in dogs after being bitten by an infected tick – a common ailment in dogs that live in a tropical climate. Meet Poly Our featured pet this week is Poly, a medium-sized, two-year-old, mother of NINE puppies who was rescued from the streets of Colonia Urias. Her owner, who obviously failed to sterilize his pet, got very angry after Poly delivered her pups and threw her and the nine puppies out onto the street. Meet Maya Our featured pet this week is Maya. This pretty, medium-sized, female, black lab-mix doggy is about a year old. She was abandoned at the front door of the shelter along with her four puppies that were all tucked inside a cardboard box. Thankfully Maya and her puppies were in good physical condition. Dala was rescued by a local family in Colonia Puerta del Sol. She was wandering the streets – hungry and thirsty – without any apparent home. Meet Olas Our featured pet this week is Olas, a 3-year-old, male Chihuahua that was rescued by a lifeguard who found him wandering along the malecón in Olas Altas. The lifeguard could not take him home so he brought the pup to the animal shelter. This lost dog’s information has been published on Busco a Mi Perro Mazatlán page (Searching for My Dog), but no one has come forward to claim this pup. [ 770 more words ]
