We look back on one of ' most prolific and loved cover bands People Like US as they sadly announced an end to the band today after a nine year run.

People just didn't "like" them, People Loved Them! x

A sunny July in 2018 and I’m in Hillworth Park for a Fantasy Radio live session, finally witnessing a Devizes based band I’d been adding the gigs of onto our calendar. With an especial distinctiven…

We're keeping our Twitter account open for just a little while longer, but I've made the decision to cancel it soon.

If you're on BSky you can follow Devizine there, if not consider joining it, it's much friendlier.

If you're staying on X, kindly let us know when Trump and Musk are planning to invade England so we can make a nice cottage pie and leave it out for them.

I'll endeavour to get the second half of the year done asap, pinky promise!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

May 2025 bring you health, happiness and hotdogs!

2024 was a great year, I hope to publish our usual review of the year, asap, but being honest with you, I've not yet started it yet, and I'm maxing relaxing at home with my family without even contemplating both it....and my annual bath!! Stay dirty for 2025 I say!

What, you may ask, was our highest hitting article of the year? Equally you may not ask, but that's all good too, I'm going to tell you anyway!

Reviewing the FullTone Festival, with a spin was clearly an ironic headline for clickbait purposes worked, it was our highest hitting article of the year with just under 10k clickity clicks!

Please note: at the time of publication we were believed that 2024 would be the final FullTone, which has since changed and Fulltone 25 is a thing now!!

Images Used With Permission of Gail Foster Chief organiser of the Full-Tone Festival, Jemma Brown has always been high on my list of local folk of admiration, but went a notch higher Sunday up…

And finally, December: two Greggs in Devizes? That seemed like a very important issue to address!!

Exciting news, isn’t it? Enough to cause me to skip merrily through the daisies in my garden as naked as a cherub, and sing its praises from every rooftop from here to Wellington Drive……

November: standing in support of Devizes since other media seem to want to slate it.

October: ah yes, The Skimmity Hitchers V Monkey Bizzle: The East/West Somerset Agricultural Hip Hop Turf War!

September: There appears to be a lack of silly articles in September. There is also a valid reason for this recent omission but it's top secret! We did a great interview with Devizes own Nothing Rhymes With Orange, though.

Devizes-own indie-pop-punk youth sensation Nothing Rhymes With Orange smashed the Exchange on Friday as a farewell to their local fanbase. They pursue a music course together at Bristol Uni; but is…

Remembering our most sensible articles of 2024, month by month.

June. There was too many events to cover during June, and potential new MPs to interview to be messing around. We did though get a telling off by the police for speculating Conservative MP Michelle Donenought was breaking electrol law, when she was only bending the rules of electrol law!

Have you had “the visit” yet? Your local councillor house-calling hand-in-hand with Conservative candidate Michelle Donelan? I have. At least it broke up my busy day with lighthearted banter! You k…

What is Devizine all about?

I ask myself that very question. As the name suggests, we’re based in Devizes and therefore we aim to keep features as local as possible. The second half of the title relates to the ethos we operate with, taking the underground self-published zines of yore to universal appeal, we don’t take subject matter too rigidly and freely write about whatever we wish!

That said, primarily Devizine strives to inform, promote and engage, in magazine-styled lifestyle topics from performing arts, music, art, literature, sports, local community affairs and fundraising efforts. We generally steer clear of national headlines and political standings, but sometimes dabble in local politics for local elections and news stories, provided we feel it would be of interest to our readers.

We have the most comprehensive event guide in the area, from a jumble sale to all out mud-fest! We review and preview events, as well as local recorded music, art and anything else we like the sound of! We will interview local creative people, people making a difference to our community. We also enjoy a spoof now and then, and critical satire is welcomed.
