Triton City Entertainment is collaborating with sci-fi writers, artists, and fans to create new intellectual property in the science fiction genre space as the stories are brought to life on digital platforms. Those platforms will become portals from the creative community to publishers and Hollywood studios in search of the most innovative and original science fiction content. "From working on sh
ows like Vikings, I know sci-fi/genre fans are the most dedicated and passionate of any entertainment genre, and we’ll be searching among them for the next wave of creators and artists. Crowdfunding versus traditional finance will allow us to maintain this core philosophy," says Hoogstra, Founder/CEO. Dirk Hoogstra was Executive Vice President and General Manager of HISTORY® and H2TM, and he previously served as Senior Vice President, Development and Programming for both networks. Beginning in 2007, his tenure oversaw hit scripted and unscripted series including Hatfields & McCoys, The Bible, Vikings, Sons of Liberty, Houdini, Texas Rising, American Pickers, Counting Cars, Mountain Men, Top Gear, Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy, Top Shot, and Men Who Built America. Hoogstra began his career with Discovery Communications Inc. in 1995 and worked over a ten-year period in Production and Development at TLC, Discovery Primetime, and Discovery Networks International.
