Origin (Book 1) is on Unlimited, but because Adaptation (Book 2) was not, we assumed Book 3 also wouldn't be.

I love this cover so much. Aethon Books does such a phenomenal job!

ADAPTATION, Book 2 of the PARALLAX trilogy comes out this Tuesday, May 7th! Nearly one month after the debut Amazon Bestselling Science Fiction book ORIGIN, Adaptation picks up where Origin left off, and that's all I'll say about that for spoiler reasons.

Reviews continue to be amazing for ORIGIN, with over 4.5 stars on both Amazon and Goodreads, and drawing flattering comparisons to everything from Larry Niven to Becky Chambers to the Mass Effect series!

What websites or newsletters do you use to look for/learn about books or get recommendations (new release or otherwise) especially in the sci-fi/fantasy space?

I know our individual internets are getting more and more targeted and insular, and I'm sure I'm missing a ton of things!

"Learn the secrets to creating memorable settings and worlds that work for all genres from expert world builders Brian Fitzpatrick, Matt Conant, and Dennis K. Crosby on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 9:30 am at the 19 Restaurant & Lounge, Laguna Woods Golf Course. Our panel will discuss the elements of setting, what makes a setting memorable, and using setting to reveal character and advance the plot."

So cool! PARALLAX: ORIGIN is still #1 on Amazon in some categories we totally weren't expecting, like "Alien Science Fiction." There aren't *technically* any aliens in the book, but all the gene-spliced humans are basically like Star Trek aliens, so... we'll take it!

ALSO, if anybody last week bought the book and was promised FREE ART and you haven't gotten your free art yet, please message me with your email address and I'll make sure you get it. It got a little hectic last week and I was doing my best to keep up with it, but I may have missed a few people!

Of all our noteworthy moments with the PARALLAX: ORIGIN book launch on Tuesday, this was one of our favorites. The PARALLAX series briefly took the #1, #4, #6 AND #7 slots all at once! At #4 was the audiobook for ORIGIN, while #6 was preorders for Book 2: ADAPTATION, and #7 was preorders for Book 3: Evolution.

Crazy! But a testament to how awesome all of you are, and we hope, to the power of original science fiction!

Getting real close! FOUR DAYS until release, and until I can launch a whole new panoply of anxieties!

Is anybody reading it? Does anybody care? Am I doing enough promotion? Am I doing the RIGHT promotion? What if it does really well? What if it sinks gently into the internet void?

Why do we do this again? Hahahaha...

But I hope you all check it out! It's a really fun story, and if you like space adventures with quirky flawed characters fighting against the literal and metaphorical machine crushing us all, I guarantee you'll love it, or your money back!*

A new milestone in my writing career coming up!

Today marks exactly THREE WEEKS until my first novel, the character-driven sci-fi adventure PARALLAX: ORIGIN debuts from Aethon Books! (April 9th)

300 years in the future, corporations have decided it's too expensive to keep terraforming, so now for max efficiency, they simply gene-splice their citizens to suit the planetary environments they come across. This has led to 12 variants of humanity, all basically indentured servants to one corp or another.

Now Terran Systems has uncovered something they don't want the other corps (or their citizens) to learn about, and our protagonists (an orphaned corporate peacekeeper, a teenage bartender, a withdrawn engineer, and a no-nonsense bounty hunter) are caught in the middle. As they uncover clues to the mystery, they find themselves the only ones capable of stopping Systems, before they cause the destruction of everything humankind has built.
