So many interesting creatives in our part of the world and one of them is Bernd Ullrich an accomplished contemporary artist who has exhibited his jewellery and sculptures around Australia. On his land north of Crows Nest he created a sculpture garden with 60 contemporary art works threaded through the forest over five acres, which he opened to the public for many years. Bernd still makes art every day. Read his story in the January edition of The Crows Post.

The cicadas have been incredible around our region this year… you see their exoskeletons on trees and wooden fences and you might even find them emerging from their final moult, after years living underground, to emerge as energetic above-ground winged creatures. And what a sound they make!

Ravensbourne National Park is nice spot for cicada spotting and all kinds of flora and fauna eruptions after the rain.

Pete’s also the owner of the local butcher shop which is all a long way from the career he once had back in Brisbane. Read all about it in the January issue of The Crows Post!

That’s not a wisteria vine…. THIS is a wisteria vine.

Richard & Rosemary live in a botanical paradise in the rolling hills of Ravensbourne on land mostly endowed with old rainforest. The garden around their home, built on what was once an old tractor shed, is full of trees they planted decades ago. They reach for the skies and spreading their long limbs wide. Richard is a noted landscape architect and together he and Rosemary have created their Eden, raised a family and run an accommodation offering so that others can enjoy a chance to unwind far from the city lights and wifi!

🌳🌳🌳 Rosemary is also the newly elected president of the microregion’s tourism network 🌳🌳🌳
