I hope the people who love to talk about how being fat is bad for your health realise that they are right, but not for the reasons they think.

Fat people get pregnant. It’s true! I’ve had four kids.

This time two years ago I was nearly 42 weeks pregnant with my beautiful little princess. Waiting and waiting for the little madam to decide it was time to come out.

I’m so sad for myself and for other fat pregnant people who might have benefitted, that I wasn’t in my self-acceptance and body positive stage. Because representation matters. So much. I wanted to see other fat people having babies, share the experience with people who know the struggles we face.

The fear mongering in the obstetrics field is unparalleled. Did you know that if, as a fat person, you’ve already had one uncomplicated pregnancy, your risk for your second pregnancy is the same as a first time thin woman. As in, it’s LOW. Yet they still continue to work to deny us choice and autonomy in our births.

I have had four completely uncomplicated births. No diabetes, no hypertension, no issues of any kind. Yet I had to work myself ragged to insist that I was allowed to birth naturally.

Risk exists for every birthing person. It does not matter your size or health. But the risks for fat people are grossly over-exaggerated by the extremely fatphobic health care providers that are rampant in this area.

Fatphobia kills, it robs us of dignity, of choice, of joy, and of life.

If you are a fat person having babies, know that you have choices and you CAN have a joyful and wonderful birth.

Day two of manic trip to Northern Scotland…Skye!

Sligachan Bridge.🌉 I’m standing on it but it was way too busy to get a distance picture. Loads of people all over it, including a hen do.

The mountains in the background are just so beautiful.

Skye is an Island, so until the bridge was built in 1995, you had to get a ferry across. Now it’s super easy and the bridge takes about 45 seconds to drive over.

The Battle of Culloden.

An incredibly beautiful place with a sober atmosphere.

This cottage was built some 20 years after the battle, but stands on the same location and was probably used as a field hospital. Many people will recognise it from the Outlander series.

This is breaking news, just in from an angry Russian on one of my posts.

Apparently this is physical manifestation of fatness (because apparently actual fat isn’t enough) and means we should be hidden and not make ourselves visible.

So remember people, if you are ever wondering if you are fat, don’t trust the mirror or your own eyes. Check for moles!

It’s just skin. It’s just fat. It’s just a body. And it’s a damn cute outfit that I can wear if I want to.🤷🏼‍♀️

There is a little village called Wycoller. You aren’t allowed to drive into it so you park half a mile away and walk into it. It’s home to three very, very old and incredible bridges. One of which is possibly Neolithic.

This bridge, called the pack-horse bridge, was likely built in the 13th century, with stones from a nearby stone circle. It is incredibly old and crooked and just a beautiful piece of ancient architecture.

There is also a ruined Hall right next to it. Definitely worth a visit!
