You need to understand, a record label will not come and save the day. They won’t throw you a five album deal, they won’t pluck you from ASDA and your not going to become the next Simon Neil. ’s of a mental bald french footballer, and you’re most certainly not going to do any of this while you sit on your arse and doing f**k all.
We started Overlook Records in 2011 because we knew that we’d acheived the square root of nothing by waiting years for the labels to come and pick us up. We’ve now released eleven records and counting in the last two years, and we’re happy to report that EMI can suck our balls. What we’ve created is more than a conventional record label, we are a family of musician’s. Our own little collective that we’ve assembled of like minded people, who share our beliefs and ambitions. We don’t pretend to be special though. We know most people don’t get our type of music and we’re fine with that. Overlook don’t care about being cool or having money, if we did, we certainly wouldn’t have started a record label. We have and always do this with a pure burning passion to release the finest Math, Rock, Dischordant or Alternative music there is to offer in our fair country. To give bands the chance to be a part of something bigger, to join our f**ked family, play music, release records and to have a little fun along the way.
