Libra Rising Music Libra Rising Music is a collective based out of The Pacific Northwest USA. So, if this sounds like you, then welcome.

As creators and curators of forward-thinking sonic weaponry, surrounding ourselves with virtuosity on a daily basis is a must. Truthfully though, we find it even more thrilling to surround ourselves with phenomenal people — brilliant, courageous, funny, driven, compassionate and enlightened minds who are here to make the world a better place and evolve humankind forward. Also, we sincerely believe

that a great (read: pǝʇsᴉʍʇ) sense of humor is paramount to life here on earth. You’ll often find us pulling ridonkulous stunts & practical jokes just to get a laugh. After all, anyone who takes themselves too seriously is missing out on what’s *really* important.

DJs/Producers... I'm gonna give you a little tip. Your local scene will always give you the *least* amount of love/respect when you're coming up in your career (and sometimes even after you've "made" it). Just remember, there's a bigger world out there than just where you live, and if you work your ass off, and you think nationally/internationally, and you make something UNIQUE (this is key), in a few years you won't even have to think about local bu****it anymore because you will have transcended that and moved way past all of them.

Most people are on a long path to the middle.. and if you focus, this doesn't have to be you. DO NOT SETTLE.

I've spent the last 5 days revamping the Libra Rising Music website to get her ready for the next iteration of all the cool s**t we're working on. Music releases (from multiple projects and collaborations), videos, private audio production lessons, more top selling Serum and Omnisphere packs... even a blog section for articles I've been writing over the years about music, self-help, etc.

We're even gonna offer audio mastering soon, as well as sound rental for the Purple Thunder Sound system you guys love at Space Oasis Music Festival.

So, if you're interested, when we post the site, take her for a spin and let me know if I forgot anything... and how it runs for you. Community feedback and cooperation makes everything better, and I'm open to suggestions.

Coming in a couple of days.

It should be no surprise at this point that I've come out of retirement from the EDM scene. It's been more than a decade since I've released a track out into the wild, but that will change here pretty soon with the release of "Sweet Thing" ... a track I did with my wife Naomi Sioux recently. A groovy little indie/house thing with a slinky baseline that gets the dance floor movin'.

We'll be shooting the video for it this summer which should be pretty fun (and funny when you see the concept we have for it). Anyway, check out the preview. We have a remix coming by Joman soon(ish) and they'll both be coming out on Libra Rising Music on Beatport and all streaming platforms.

J. Scott G. presents his first track in more than a decade (after retirement from the EDM scene) with Naomi Sioux. Coming soon on Libra Rising Music.

You will also be able to pay for your ticket in installments using PayPal or Affirm to make it easier on your wallet. We will be announcing a fundraising/DJ audition event here soon, so stay tuned....

For those of you who are still on the fence about going to Decks On The Beach in less than a month, we wanted to repost these pictures to show you what we have in store for the production this year. The long picture is the mockup of our new stage setup for this year, which is 60 feet across from video screen to video screen. The main background facade is 32 feet across, with artwork printed on lycra, and stretched onto a bamboo frame. Artwork was done by one of our DJs this year from Seattle, Psiloteric Visions. See the little white person on the right? That's for scale perspective on how big this thing is.

The other pictures are of the the giant inflatables we had made specifically for this party, which light up from the inside. Two of the mushrooms are 12 feet tall and one is 15 feet tall. The two Easter Island statues are 12 feet tall each, and the astronaut which goes right behind the stage setup, is 21 feet high to the top of the hand.

We even added 4 more 18" subwoofers and another 4000 watts to our already awesome Purple Thunder Sound System (for a total of 20,000 watts). It sounds amazing.

Obviously these are things we will use for future parties as well, but we definitely broke the bank this year to bring you guys, what we think, is something special that you don't see or hear at many small parties in the area.

Who The Hell Is Libra Rising Music?

Hello friends & music lovers.

My name is Jesse Scott (Aka J. Scott G. - my producer/stage name), and today, I thought I’d take a second to introduce ourselves, especially to those of you who haven’t heard of Libra Rising Music and who might be wondering who the hell we were. After all, most people in their right mind wouldn’t go to an event without knowing a bit about the promoters who were throwing it, right? I probably wouldn’t.

My wife, Naomi Sioux, and I have been living in Portland for about 7 years now, and before we moved here, we were living in San Francisco/Ventura, California. To be perfectly honest, we didn’t really plan to move to Portland, specifically, but we had been on the road for a year working on an EPIC music project in 2016 that ultimately ended because of funding problems. We stayed here in Portland because, well, it’s a long story but essentially we got stranded. That being said, I’d toured through Portland dozens of times in the past and had always loved it here, so it wasn’t long until we were back on our feet, making Portland our new home.

A little bit of history about me… I have been a professional electronic music producer for 30 years now. I used to be in a trance/progressive/breaks band called Deepsky back in the early 2000s. If you’re older like me (48 now), you might have heard of us. Our biggest songs were Stargazer, Ghost & Talk Like A Stranger (featuring Jes), Cosmic Dancer… as well as a barrage of remixes for artists like David Bowie, Madonna, Seal, The Crystal Method… the list goes on.

I won’t bore you with the details, but essentially, I’ve been making electronic music for the dance floor and touring around the world for a VERY long time now.

I semi-retired from the EDM scene around 2012, as the lifestyle, the partying, the touring, etc was catching up to me. I started focusing my energy on composing for film/tv and sound design, and also started a company called PSY Acoustics, which started taking all my time. To be honest, it was nice getting out of the scene for a bit, as we were both tired of the drama and the politics everywhere we went.

Still avid lovers of electronic dance music (and becoming more burners than ravers as we were getting older), my wife and started throwing these private parties for our friends on the Columbia River once a year, near where we lived on Jantzen Island. It was only around 100 people or so, but they were a BLAST, and we did it because we still loved the music as well as watching people get together and have an amazing time. I guess old habits die hard.

This will be our 5th Decks on the Beach. This year we decided that instead of keeping it private, that we’d open it up to the public. We invested quite a bit of money into a killer sound system, amazing stage production, as well as a bunch of other fun stuff to take things to the next level, and have partnered several friends, artists and other incredible people to bring this production to you.
At the end of the day, all we really wanna do is bring amazing music and beauty into a world that could DEFINITELY use more of it.

Anyway, if you’ve read this far, then thank you for your time, and we hope you come to Decks On The Beach this year. You won’t be disappointed. Make sure to introduce yourself!!! I’ll be the bald guy running around keeping everything running!

Sincerely,
Jesse, Naomi & The Libra Rising Music Team.

P.S. - The logo... the monkey in the astronaut suit... well... we're all just a bunch of apes trying to evolve and find a higher purpose. Might as well have a sense of humor about it. 😉
