JBC's Co-Founders, Brittany Stangel and Judy Battaglia, grew up exploring their local farmers’ market where their grandmother managed a candy & nut station. She told them stories of the not-so-distant past when she and their grandfather owned their own brick and mortar candy store. These memories left an eternal imprint on their lives and instilled in Brittany and Judy a love for the artistic them
es of childhood and nostalgia. JBC's Mission is to use mindfulness in order to focus our attention on childhood and nostaglia through arts and education. We imagine this collective to be like books that have been borrowed and brought back, inspiring each new reader to leave writings on back flaps, in between lines, on hidden pages, and in blank spaces. Our goal is to build a worldwide "family" tree,
a collection of stories and experiences that are communicated through poetry, photography, illustrations, short stories, critical essays, song lyrics and other forms of artistic expression.
