Just wanted to post since it has been a year. We are still saving up to get a house outside the San Francisco bay area. Rent in San Francisco is obscene. We don't have the space for me to do animation right now, so Hairless Bufford projects are still on hold until further notice. I desperately wanna get back to animating. It makes me feel crazy to not be able to work in my medium. Anyway, just wanted to pop in for an annual update.

Very long time no see. Hairless Bufford is still on hiatus. The San Francisco living situation with rent prices and whatnot doesn't allow me to rent a space to animate in at this time. My husband and I just opened an Etsy shop where we will be selling enamel pins, figurines, and wall decor. Sometimes needle felted sculptures. Sometimes stickers. Sometimes prints. Just a general art and accessories slinging place. The shop money we earn is going toward buying a house with an art studio or basement or extra room or large closet even at this point. I desperately need to get back to animating.

Busy few weeks of juggling in my personal life. I was offered a new job. Quit my current job. And have been working on LGBTQueerstory stuff as much as I can during this time. Thank you cards are being mailed out by Monday. My apologies for the delayed send off to those of you receiving them. Things will be back to a manageable pace by the end of October. In fact with the new job, I am cutting 4 hours a day from my commute, so I should be even more productive in the long run. So yea. Good job me.

As soon as Kickstarter wrapped on August 1st, I ordered the supplies needed to get this thing going. It was animation nerd Christmas. I also took the opportunity to take a week to relax before free time becomes extinct.

So far, I have two completed final head sculpts, Garon and Bombala, and two partially finished heads, Lysa and Quentin. I also finished sculpting studies for Trace and will start her final head sculpt and Sydney’s by Tuesday. I had given myself a week per head since the head is so key. I have, so far, managed to finish well ahead of schedule, and ahead is where I would like to stay!

Other than that, there is not alot else to update. I will post pictures of the master head sculpts when I finish all six of the main cast. For now, look at this rough sketch of Trace.

It is official! Funding has just ended successfully! I know I keep saying it, but thank you all for helping make this happen! This is a project that means a lot to me to make and I couldn't have made it happen without you all. So thank you! Now time to relax and celebrate for a day before the fun hard work begins!

WE'RE FUNDED!!!!!

Thank you all so incredibly much for helping me get LGBTQueerstory funded! To Mr. Vincent Snyder, I cannot thank you enough (although that won't stop me from trying) for hurlin me across the finish line! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mr. Producer. You, sir, will be the most butt kickin'est puppet ever!

So there are still 8 days left for the Kickstarter campaign. If you have not yet donated, but would still like to, there is still time. Anything raised from here on will be used mostly for additional music and rental of the animation space.

Thanks everybody! Last week I ran from Pride event to Pride event handing out flyers and shamelessly promoting LGBTQueerstory. I looked like an awkward 6th grader asking someone to dance at a Sadie Hawkins for the most part, but it was a lot of fun and gave me the opportunity to meet a whole lotta people.

I will be shipping off flyers to Austin, New Orleans, New York, LA, Portland, Mississippi, and Atlanta in the morning. I am lucky to have friends willing to help me spread the word in their cities. "LGBTQueerstory" a Gay History Web Series

Thank you all so much for making week one such a succuess! LGBTQueerstory is already 22% funded thanks to all of your support. Going into this Kickstarter project, I didn't quite know what to expect. I have run the gamut from nervousness to humility to excitement to pride and it is only the first week!! The overwhelmingly positive response, well, there are just no words. All I can say is THANK YOU!


This weekend will be my first big promotional push at San Francisco Pride. I will be out and about handing out flyers and goodies all weekend, Friday in the Haight and the Mission, Saturday in the Castro mostly, and Sunday at the parade. If you are at SF Pride and see me (I'll be the guy in the orange beanie and beard), stop me and say, "Hello!"

This has been a hectic month! I have been meeting with possible collaborators. My boyfriend moved in to my apartment. There is finally, FINALLY dedicated (well quasi-dedicated) animation space which allowed me to wrap up usable Kickstarter animation yesterday. This means I will spend today editing and have it submitted to Kickstarter for review by tonight or tomorrow morning AT THE LATEST! This has all been a long, slow process, and I thank you all for supporting me in this.

Ummmm, where is the kickstarter?

The original plan was to have the kickstarter up and running by early to mid-April, but the best laid schemes o' mice and men...

I want to make sure that the animation is as clean as possible before launch. What I had animated was not quite where I felt it should be, so I scrapped it and started fresh. A big part of the issues I was having were specifically related to the things I am trying to raise money for in the first place. The lighting was just bad. No way around it. Also, the slightest bump to the tripod throws off the shot and I do not have sandbags yet to hold the legs steady. During the shoot, the tripod would naturally settle which would throw everything off just enough to make my eye twitch.

What does all of this mean?

This means that there will be a delay in the launch. I don't intend on the final product being subpar, so I certainly do not want my fundraising demo to be less than impressive. Please be patient with me a little bit longer. I promise, it is getting there and what I put up will be the best version I can muster with what I am currently working. Thanks for sticking by me folks.
