We are very sorry to report that Gary Moore, one of the original members of the community velodrome committee established before the velodrome was even built, passed away tragically while hiking Linville Gorge with his son yesterday. Gary was very involved at the RHOC for years and a valuable contributor to the cycling community

Our deep and sincere condolences to Gary’s family.

The Alpenrose velodrome outside of Portland recently closed, and RRH co-founder Spencer Lueders sent this note to Bike Portland, which shared it with their cycling community.

Word is there will be an effort to build a new velodrome in Portland. Let’s hope we can repay the inspiration.
