Big changes for me and the studio. What has been a happy work relationship doing contract audio for Greg Hemmings and Hemmings House Pictures has turned into full time audio and directing at HHP. This means Ripple Effect Music will become a part time passion rather than the all consuming business it has been for the last seven years. I really look forward to still working with great area artists but there will be fewer projects per year. Also, I have given up my Wentworth St location and am moving the studio to our new home in uptown Saint John.

Thanks to all my clients over these last years. It has been fantastic. And for my new "world's greatest job" you can find me at 86 Prince William St with the HHP crew.

"Y'all play fiddle bass?" That was the North Carolina way of asking "do you play upright bass". I am happy to finally be able to answer, yes. Taller than a speeding building, I just came by this wonderful instrument. Cool as a moose and almost as big.

A big treat to have one of New Brunswick's finest country artists Chris Cummings in the studio laying down vocals on Mike Biggar's upcoming album. The song is one of a couple of co-writes between Mike and Chris. It's a strong tune and Chris' reputation as a great singer and song writer is well deserved.

HUNTER HAYES RECORDS AT RIPPLE EFFECT MUSIC. While in Saint John opening for Carrie Underwood, Nashville star Hunter Hayes took his day off to film his next music video. The day ended with a voice over session here at REM. OK, he didn't sing or play - it was dialogue only. But we did share our mutual admiration for Neve 1073 mic pres. Thanks to Hemmings House Pictures and crew for making REM part of the day.

Big congratulations to Stephanie Mainville on winning the 2013 ECMA in the Gospel/Inspirational catagory. Each of Steph's albums has received East Coast Music Association (ECMA) Award noms and it is great to take it home this year.
