Absolutely disgusting, what is wrong with some people, no respect! 😡

Such a wonderful place for people to visit, let's hope they catch who did it and it's just a minor set back.

Happy Sunday everyone 🙄 some helpful guests completely trashed our outdoor pool and a vast amount of furniture last night. Just what we need 🥵
If anyone has any information that might help us track the culprits down please get in touch.

Reopening 12th April 😍

From 12 April, Nothe Fort will be open to visitors... but only the outdoor areas (plus the shop and Fort View Cafe).

Between 12 and 18 April, we will be open each day for a family Easter Egg hunt around the Fort, then we shall only be open on the weekends until 17 May.

Since we can only offer you half the fun of the Fort, we have reduced out entry prices too. For more details, check out the image below!

Haldon Forest Park *update* 🚲

*** Skills area is now open ***

Stage one of the skills area facelift is complete. So we are now happy to open it up again. Thank you for your patience.

The pump track remains closed, there's still some drainage works to do and further reshaping and resurfacing works to complete.

We will update you as soon as we can with a timeframe of when it will be reopening.

Please help us to open the pump track quicker by staying out of it until it is officially reopened.
At some point it will look finished but a certain amount of setting in time is needed so the track can bed in and not erode as quick with the amount of heavy use they both get.

Duke of Cornwall Hotel update

⚜️ Update from The Duke ⚜️

As you may be aware, there have been some changes at The Duke of Cornwall Hotel, and we are now under new management.

As a result of this we are sadly unable to honour existing bookings. However, we have been assured by the appointed liquidators that all guests have been contacted, and we apologise if this is not the case. If so, please contact [email protected] with your booking details, as well as the amount of the deposit paid.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to the data of all previous guests, or guests who have deposits for future or postponed reservations and cannot therefore confirm if this communication was sent to you. Under the GDPR regulations we are unable to request personal data from the previous company.

In terms of the hotel systems, we are still working hard to reset all the IT systems so we can start to receive emails communication again at the hotel. Having said this, these systems were owned by Bespoke Hotels and as such these contacts are subject to change.

However, we are pleased to say that our former General Manager is now back at the hotel, and we are truly excited to be re-opening the hotel and hope to welcome you back this Summer.

Apart from Covid and being in a national lockdown..

The icy roads are another reason why you're safer at home! ❤️

So....this was the scene from Buncombe Hill earlier today....

The initial reports came in that there was a multi-vehicle collision with persons trapped…..

-19 Firefighters
-3 Ambulances
-Ambulance doctors
-1 Air Ambulance
-2 Roads Policing Officers
-2 Police Officers
-1 PCSO

Thankfully it only turned out to be one car ditched, but with several other vehicles stuck in the snow.

All for an uninsured driver taking friends for a drive, who ran out of talent in the snow.
Vehicle seized, COVID tickets issued and no injuries thankfully.

This could all have been avoided.

Since 2020 has been such a difficult year for us all we are determined to still make Christmas on the farm as fun and magical as we possibly can, given the current situation, we are sadly unable to do our usual Breakfast with Santa or Grotto experiences which have been so successful in the past.

But, fear not, because as a fantastic NEW way of doing it this year, we have created an AMAZING trail around the farm, where the children (and adults!) can help Santa ‘rebuild’ his sleigh that has ‘crash landed’ on the farm! Santa will be making special socially distanced appearances on the farm and our staff will be making sure they offer some amazing Reindeer Making sessions too, which is also included in the ticket price, and you can even take them home with you as a memento from your day with us!

😥 Rest in Paradise ❤️ Hope 🦓

This is why we need silent fireworks and ban the use of loud bangers and anything that interferes with animals habitats and or causes distress to animals.

I've heard of a sheep running in fear of its life by a rogue firework that was let off near a field causing itself harm with fencing..

Horses who get burned by stray rockets

It's incredibly sad that in an age where there are safer versions of fireworks available, but due to lax guidelines they're not being used or made mandatory so anyone can get hold of them and let them off....

Things need to change before anymore innocent animals lose their lives.

It is with great sadness that Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm announces the passing of Hope, our young Zebra.

Hope was born at the start of the first lockdown in March 2020 and became a much-loved addition to our collection. She was named Hope by our keepers to symbolise a ray of light and hope at a time which felt so bleak. She became a symbol of positivity to our keepers and many of our visitors alike and she will be very much missed.

It is believed that Hope became spooked by the loud bangs of fireworks from several fireworks displays held locally on the evening of Wednesday 4th November. It appears that the fright caused her to bolt and she collided with the boundary of the enclosure. The post-mortem has revealed that this sudden impact caused her immediate death.

We would like to use this tragic event to call for change and we really hope that people will now think and consider alternative arrangements for celebrations, including silent fireworks or more animal-friendly options.

Purbeck Sports Club update

Following the Government announcement on Saturday 31 October of a second National lockdown. We will be closing our doors on Wednesday 4 November at the end of the day. We hope to reopen again on the 3 December. We will monitor the situation closely and update you with reopening plans in due course. Memberships will be frozen. Clip n Climb Plymouth latest update

With deep regret we will be closing Clip ‘n Climb Plymouth for the 2nd time following the government announcement 😢

That would make today (Sunday 1st Nov) our last day of trading until we are allowed to reopen once again, which we are hoping will be at the beginning of December 🙌
