At the tender age of 12, Mart began painting in the streets of Buenos Aires, bringing his vibrant, whimsical style to lucky passers by. His vibrant colors and playful subjects bely a sophisticated mastery of the use of aerosol paints. Mart is an established contemporary artist with a rising international profile. He maintains a strong relationship with his community, and his work can be seen throughout Palermo, the neighbourhood where he grew up.

Torkil Gudnason's Body Vase juxtaposes flora with human curves, eroticism with innocence, and nature with it’s inherent beauty and allure. There is a quality of mysterious fascination within these images - they are charged with a charm that accompanies temptation. The soft, intimate lighting comes from shooting exclusively with daylight – and allows the viewer into a small, private world consisting only of photographer and model. His images have drama and a sculptural quality that brings to mind the heft and simplicity of Henry Moore or Modigliani - “I like distortion as a sculptural effect,” he says. Shot over a period of nine months, Body Vase brings together two passions for Torkil – flowers and the human form. It is remarkable that these images were created in-camera, with very little retouching – lending the increased power of authenticity to these images, and leaving us wondering at the beauty that exists within this world. Torkil Gudnason has a studio in Williamsberg, but also at times has called Paris and Copenhagen home.

Tim Flach's animal photography astounds me with it's graphic compositions and wonderful detail. Being able to examine each hair on an animal, or each wrinkle of their skin, provides an up-close experience that few people ever get an opportunity to have. It reminds us of the wonder each animal is, and the connection we share with them, and in turn, to the divine. When I was looking at his work, I found too many fascinating images to post here - so please, check out his web site below, as well as his book, More Human than Human. ( http://www.timflach.com )

Christopher David Ryan’s graphic portfolio is surprisingly expansive and diverse – but one of my many favorites from him are his series of “Dailies”. Simple yet clever illustrations that boil communication down to the heart of the matter.
While he is a partner at the creative studio More & Co he has been producing work under the label Atmostheory – his own one-man tour-de-design-force.
This quote from his site is quite accurate, "Ultimately, CDR himself is his best client. He's never been one to wait for the work to come to him. With a head full of ideas and piles of sketchbooks full of what is yet to come, he'll have no problem keeping himself quite busy.”
