Honestly, I just like uniformity. So I uploaded the cover photo thingy.

Also, I don't plan to stream as much. Only when time permits. I like streaming my games with friends coz it's just fun to have an archive to blackmail them. ☺️👍

[Palia] Screenshots from the Maji Market

Been having so much fun with friends with Palia's first-ever online event - the Palia Maji Market. It's an in-game festivity centered on the Chapaas, kind of like an oversized squirrel/Tasmanian devil-like creature. They got in-game booths, food, and merch themed around the festivity, and the best part - fireworks!

Although activities throughout the festival are limited, we got ourselves to a bunch of shenanigans while waiting for the Chapaa Chase to drop and earn those sweet sweet Chapaa tickets (to exchange for plushies).

With the recent patch, the Chapaa Chase makes it easier to earn tickets to collect all plushies. But it nerfed the ever-utilized Phoenix Fireworks... oh well.

Are you f*cking kidding me? It’s called Hello Kitty ISLAND Adventure, not Hello Kitty Archipelago Adventure. LOOK HOW HUGE THE MAP IS! I just unlocked the first adjacent islands. Alright then, challenge accepted, unlocking the map.

//It feels more like Genshin/Pokemon/Octopath map than ACNH map. Come on. This is fun. I’m having fun.

// I had the choice to be a chicken, but intentionally choosing a dog avatar to pay tribute to Isabelle. Also, Gudetama selfie spoiler, sorry.

//I don't have my streaming gears this weekend but just a regular live unboxing for my birthday stream. So excited. Wala lang.

While 'fixing' my computer stuff, I think I may have corrupted my graphics card.

I dunno anymore. I give up.

29/10/2022

I wanted to stream games this long weekend, but!

1. I forgot my we**am.
2. I am missing an HDMI cable.
3. I need to fix the firmware of my monitor or driver or i dunno, I think I just gave up setting it up, for now.

But this is just all the excitement with my new monitor. I'm more than grateful that we have electricity after the severe typhoon from last night. Bonus, we have stable net.

Anyway, I'm starting up Disney Dreamlight Valley in 240 hertz. 😭

Oh, I just recently learned to set up my freakin' headset while my switch is docked. Yay!

HARVESTELLA (Screencap Part 2)

**Really regretting that I wasn't able to get my capture card for this game, it's so pretty.**

I'm a bit late into the Harvestella reviews, but oh boy, it certainly does leave me wanting more by the end of Chapter 2.

Here's my little experience on farming/RPG review of this game:

1. Literally, drops you right in the middle of the game. Upon clicking New Game, the narrative is afoot. It sets you up by understanding the detailed worldbuilding of Harvestella. As RPG goes, it prioritizes the narrative with accomplishments pushing you in depth into the story forward.

2. Baby Steps. Even with a gigantic task narrative in the background, the game holds your hand and teaches you the basic controls, to farming system intro and battle mechanics. The learning curve isn't quite that steep as the game progressively thought of guides and hints that will help you throughout your quest. I find myself getting confident with my controls with familiarity with the controls and map.

3. Gorgeous Environment. One thing I found amazing in recent RPGs is their love for glowy stuff. (Astral Chain, hello), Harvestella doesn't have a shortage of glowy stuff in their bioms as glowing trees, rocks and magical creatures are scattered everywhere. Glowing eyecandies have indication in game as well. Watch out for the Canyon on Chapter 2, a lot of screengrab worthy moments with bioms.

4. Balance. I haven't really delved deeper into farming & RPG combined mechanics, but as far as Harvestella goes, it has the right balance of compulsory questing and "f**k, it I wanna just make money off my farm." I used to laugh at this when I tried Sakuna, but I understand the charm of battles and growing crops. Both challenging to balance to progress into the game.

5. Crisp Dialogue. I appreciate the dialogues and cut scenes better as they keep it rather shortcand easy to understand considering Harvestella's story is a time paradox of scifi /fantasy combined. The cut scenes are fun and lengthy enough to get invested in and not bore you with just scrolling over them.

6. Music Vibes. The scoring in Harvestella is ace. It catches that sense of dread, new day and battle scene down to the T. It reminded me of Octopath Traveler, there are a few notable ones, I especially like the scoring in my house in-game.

7. 2DHD surprise. The game is in 3rd person perspective with acceptable graphics to wow nee players, but the nicer surprise is the bigger map of Harvestella world. Their markers changed to a 2DHD veesion complete with a chibi pointer that reminded me of Octopath Traveler/Triangle Strategy games Square Enix has been known for. I love 2DHD and I'm glad they kept that in game.

8. Farming is basic. Chapter 1 introduces you to the farming mechanic which is to be honest, is a scam. The farming is pretty easy, nothing revolutionary about it but I did enjoy the easy mining technique and foraging element that they put in game. Although it seems on auto-pilot, it doesn't give you that much effort in accomplishing your task but the rewards are surprisinglu good.

9. Let's talk about fishing. The fishing mechanic is pretty easy. But it does take time to wait for fishies to bite. It seems fun to fish at fishing spots, but it is limited especially when you go far into the game. It really does take time and in Harvestella, time is precious.

10. Tick-tock. The time element in Harvestella is crucial. In all honesty, as far as in-game time goes in RPGs, time is currency. Time Management is real when you gotta split your time into farming and battling monsters. Also, time goes by really fast in Harvestella, and keeps reminding you when you gotta sleep by 10:00 PM.

11. Characterization. You have limited choice. I guess, they set up the narrative as around the amnesiac character and you only had to customize the skin color and outfit, still in limited choices.

12. Interface. It is a bit similar to MonHun on some parts when it comes to interface and even user controls on Switch but it Harvestella uses it effectively.

13. Belief system. Harvestella is still a mystery after 2 chapters. There are questions about time paradox and belief in magic and science. There's also religious entity involved ehich gives you effective tools for worldbuilding.

14. Overall, the demo leaves you wanting more from the prologue. You are given a story hook to be invested enough to buy the full game, coz I am invested and so far It's really good.

Developer requests: maybe the ones i am asking for is already on your main game, but i am being nitpicky here.

1. Outfit options, or maybe a change outfit or upgrade, so far the main character only has 2 outfits.

2. More in-game voice dialogue especially for cut scenes or boss battles.

3. Easy control to change Jobs in the middle of battle to level up jobs especially when battling elemental bosses.

That's it, thank you for reading!
Next up, Disney's Dreamlight Valley!

Coral Island is awesomesauce! It's still on Early Access days (just released last Oct. 11) so I'm sure there are adjustments along the way. But here are the cool stuff I found.

1. The GFX render is ace. Aside from the blooming flowers, there isn't much loading time on screen to get from one area to the next. Saves a lot of time.

2. Loading time is quick. From the get go, the only time u get to load the screen is when u enter a house. But as I said earlier, the general map is ready to go!

3. Attention to detail. The bioms per area are so pretty, the details on trees, plants, even the magical temples are well thought out.

4. Interior design is ace. Someone really got a blueprint and made those houses impeccably pretty, I'd get house designs from it.

5. Top tier island living. From cute stray cats and dogs, to bonsai makers, to hobos living in vans, to lighthouse, temples and gods... This island has it all but still manageable.

6. Story branches out. Like Harvest Moon games, u gotta save the town and appease goddesses. But it also branches out to environmental issues, belief in science, and somehow socio-economic tasks that will benefit the island. It goes beyond tilling soils and fishing.

7. Staying true. Even with the added layers in the story, the game seems manageable with life sim games basics. Crafting isn't that much of a chore as it is on auto-pilot crafting. It paces the player on what they can do from early days of the game.

8. Huge map doesnt mean boring. Unlike old HM or Story of Seasons or Stardew Valley wherein the houses are boring rectangles. The environment has personality, it changes according to the area, designed well enough to be completely different from each houses.

9. Start not from scratch. From the get go, u focus on land tilling and then acquire skills from there, forage, mine, fish, bug catching, diving... U get to enjoy the meat of the game at Day 1 and not just setting up to get to the good part.

10. Controls are pretty basic but with a little bit of learning curve.

11. Music is not to overpowering, the asmr realness of the bioms are awesome.

12. Tilted Top View works seemlessly just enough to get from point A to B

13. NPC dialogues have their own personality and follow archetypes. Not too bland. Easy to read dialogues, nice font, clean and crisp and straight to the point. Cut scenes are really fun.

14. Reach of tools saves so much time!

Then again, we have a few frustrations...

1. Please let me pick up items, coz storage bins can only be picked up with a sickle.

2. PLEASE have a mini map anywhere on the screen, or maybe for toggle action, I keep getting lost.

3. You gotta be area and item specific to interact with an item. It works but a bit confusing with the reach.

4. Time is soooo fast. Energy drains too fast too. I sleep around nearly 3pm on full work progress on the farm.

So there... A little review list. Wishlist this for the long weekends ahead or if u wanna avoid nosy Aunts during the holidays. Highly recommended! 👍

Man... I was supposed to play Harvestella but I forgot my capture card. It has a free demo on Switch now. But anyways, Coral Island was just released, so we're gonna opt for that one.
