There was no way I could do a brickfilm with a heavy Japanese influence and not at least tip the hat to my buddy and his series 'Nattodesu'.

Long before I was turning 'tokusatsu' into 'tokustudsu', Aaron was turning 'anime' into 'brickime', and you should give the series a watch! Go! Now!⁠

Is that Hikaru from Exo-Force? Yes it is!

Mechs, Japanese names and influences, armies of evil robots...Exo-Force very much feels like it could almost have been a tokusatsu, and you'll see references to it in future Super Warrior animations.⁠

Did you notice the updated Jam Pot logo design? This little clip was meant to emulate Toei's logo (the company that makes Super Sentai) but it has given me pause to consider changing my own logo.⁠

After witnessing the reawakening of an ancient evil, bike messenger Hikaru Konishi suffered a terrible accident. His life was saved by the legendary phoenix Hou’an, and he used his new lease on life to fight evil as the Super Warrior!

Honestly blame LEGO for this, I couldn’t NOT make a brickfilm with the Super Warrior minifigure! Fingers crossed that future Collectible Minifigures series give us this character in other colours so we can make full teams.

This is quite an ambitious animation, and I have other projects that take priority, so it might not be out for a while, but this journey through the fake timeline of a fictional TV show will be worth the wait.

I made a thing! Dinosaurs this time for an upcoming show from work.

It was a bit of a challenge, as we didn't have any video footage of some models, and others only exist as renders, but thanks to the magic of After Effects I was able to make it look like those photos were 'alive'.

It's been a while now (almost a year since Episode 1) but I'm still working on Episode 2 of 'LEGO Inhumans'. Whether I continue the series beyond that is still up in the air.

It's been pretty hard for me to find any motivation to work on my brickfilms lately. There are a lot of reasons, and I won't bore you with those, but many of the deeper issues I've been dealing with over the past few years have been amplified lately, and Jam Pot Studios has suffered for that.

One thing that has crossed my mind is to put a stopper in the things I'm working for, and start again, on something new. Not on a new channel or under a new name, nothing so dramatic, but maybe it's time to put projects like Inhumans to bed. I don't make my brickfilms to rake in views or likes - when I do something based on Marvel or Star Wars or any other IP, it comes from a place of love for that world of stories - but I'd be lying if I said I didn't appreciate feedback (good or bad) or support, even if it's only from a couple of people. The only real response I've had to this project has been that people didn't enjoy ABC's Inhumans TV series. Clearly I picked the wrong time to stop sitting on this one, and do something about it.

So I haven't come to a decision. I might finish Inhumans, I might not. I'd at least like to finish Episode 2, but it feels like a fool's errand if I'm not going to finish the series as a whole. Now would certainly be as good a time as any to move back to Vampire Town shorts, or explore something new entirely.

But I'm undecided.
