JUST IN: Fares for all kinds of public transport will not be increased once the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is lifted in Metro Manila and other areas.

According to Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, the Metro’s top policymaking body will discuss on Saturday the possibility of extending the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in all 17 cities and the remaining municipality to June 15.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will add more security forces for the extended ECQ in Metro Manila.

At a virtual press briefing, NCRPO Chief Police said he would talk to the Philippine Army and the Philippine National Police's Special Action Force (SAF) to ask for assistance in the additional deployment of security forces.
