Hi all, this is Emily and like many of you might have guessed when I announced I got a full time job this past August. CRM will be going on an indefinite hiatus. Maybe one day CRM will resume, maybe it will not. I can't say for certain right now either way.

I was 19 when I started CRM and I am turning 26 next month. My life is incredibly different and a LOT has changed. Making the magazine and putting a new one out on the 1st of the month for 5 years burned me more than I realized. The magazine really is a full time job in itself so when I started going to work 40 hours a week and then coming home and trying to edit the magazine, answer emails, brainstorm new ideas for future issues, interview folks etc in all of my free time I became incredibly overwhelmed, withdrawn and depressed. It wasn't healthy.

In this hiatus I want to further settle into my adult life and enjoy my free time without feeling the need to work or be producing something. I want to slow down and enjoy the down time with my partner. I hope you can all understand and maybe one day (who knows maybe even soon!) you may see a theme pop up for an upcoming issue.

Until then though, thank you all for your incredible support over these past few years.

"This photo shoot was several years in the making between Soul-ette Cosplay and I. With conventions being back we finally had a chance to shoot our duo of Smash Bros. Space Ladies, Zero Suit Samus and Rosalina. We chose a reflective building for the location, which was both beautiful and challenging for our photographer, Richard. It really invokes the feeling of a space station."

Hello CRM friends!

We really appreciate the understanding and support you have all shown us since our last post updating you about Em’s new full time job. We are so happy to announce we finally have some answers for you regarding future issues of CRM and the current publication timeline. Going forward in 2023 we will begin a quarterly magazine release schedule aligned with the seasons, meaning an issue for Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. These issues will have varying sections and basically be “open” themed issues. Meaning you can send in any cosplay from any series or genre and we will categorize and have sections in each of those issues accordingly.

This shift will allow us to make CRM even better for you all, bigger issues, bigger articles, more collaborations and so much more. All while allowing Em and Aesthel time to create their own content and work their other jobs.

As for the rest of the calendar year, we are wrapping up the Nintendo issue for release shortly. Regarding the next issue after that we will be melding the rest of this year's themes together. The accepted Evil & Villains issue submissions we have received will be included in a section in this year's Halloween issue then we will move into the quarterly release schedule beginning on January 1st 2023 with the Winter Issue!

We understand this is a lot of information so please do not hesitate to reach out and ask us questions regarding these changes. At this moment we have paused our Patreon page specifically for the changes and how they will affect the monthly print tier sub as we will not be having monthly releases for the near future.

Hi CRM friends and community, here. As most of you have noticed and read from our posts, I picked up a full time 8-5 job two weeks ago.

As the sole editor of this magazine, it’s been a hectic shift if I am being honest with you all. I understand you have questions of deadlines, issue releases, themes, emails, etc. Please be patient as I do not have all the answers for you at this time. Essentially CRM is evolving and shifting as I grow up and navigate life.

I used to spend 12 hours a day working on the magazine and I simply don’t have that flexibility anymore and I apologize for the lack of further communication. Along with that- please try and refrain from reaching out to myself or on our personal social medias. We try and keep our work separated and organized as best we can and messages in varying inboxes amongst ourselves is not the way to do so.

So I appreciate your patience as we navigate this time and will update you as I know more.

Hello everyone!!

We have a brief update to share with you all regarding our upcoming Nintendo issue!

Due to sudden unforeseen circumstances the release of this issue will unfortunately have to be delayed for about a week. We will keep everyone updated on the official publication news!

In the mean time we have extended the submission deadline for our next issue, so you can feel free to keep sending in your work for our Evil & Villains issue and our Halloween issue while we work on getting the Nintendo issue out for you all!!

"It's a fine balance of drawing inspiration from the show art, drafting sketch ideas, and creating a strong reading composition. First step is the image. After cutting out the subject in Photoshop, I'll create a 3D background using Blender or other 3D programs. I'll then combine the subject and background images, matching them in Photoshop. From there, it's all visual effects and color grading."
