Serious progress. The last centre rib has been beat into submission. Video coming as I can finally report in on this final job. Much more difficult than I thought.
Looking for design opinions. I reduced the rib height 5 mm and now have to taper them into the grill surround. The factory parts have a taper starting at 75 mm...I think 35 is enough. Thoughts?
After a week of beating my head against the wall trying to join the cool kids with 6 speeds - I've settled on the Tremec TKX 5 speed. That meant I had to design an adapter and will have to regear the differential. I'm going to let it sit for a day, then recheck the measurements and look for somewhere that will machine this thing.
Back at it after a few weeks off. Powder coating came out great from Powder Works.
Rough week - little progress. That's the way real builds go when you've got a day job. Focus on the path forward. Brackets...brackets and more brackets. That's all that got done. Brackets are cool right?
