We’re on our mid-year break.
We’ll be back with season 10 on 20/08/2024

Between now and then we’ll be working on our book club, our 100th special episode, and using completion of season 9 as an excuse to eat cake.

We’re also busy at where we help educators start and grow their shows with our training programmes and production services.

Even though we're still working over the summer, you can bet we’re going to make time for cake.

Help us live to our full cake potential by suggesting cakes we should bake to celebrate completion of season 9.

How would short videos help your career or business?

Short videos are a brilliant way to introduce yourself and share updates about your work and business with your community.

It’s also a great way to build your digital portfolio as you can add videos to your website or feature them on your social pages.

I record short videos on my mobile phone to keep my community updated about my courses and events.

I’m not talking about recording a reel a day here, but short videos that I record from time to time about my courses and conferences.

My videos are:
✅ short - usually a minute to 90 seconds
✅ focused on one point
✅ piece to camera, voice over or a mix
✅ personable - I try to imagine who I’m recording for

Would you like to plan and explore recording short videos for your work or business?

On Friday 16th February at 2 pm Central European Time Meri and I are hosting an online workshop to help you do just this.

In our workshop, we’ll explore video formats, equipment, and how to keep viewers engaged in a way that feels authentic.

Meri also has fab tips to help overcome any camera shyness that may be holding you back.

We want more educators and edupreneurs to use video creatively so we’re offering this live workshop for FREE.

Sign up to reserve your spot and we’ll see you on Friday.

In this episode, Ola focuses on:

✅ Foundations Over Instincts: Ola shares her journey, emphasising the significance of establishing relationships within the ELT community before diving into social media.

✅ Beyond Language Teaching: Ola highlights the futility of content that only focuses on teaching language points. While such content might engage learners, it doesn't necessarily convert them into paying clients.

2023 has been our biggest year yet!

To date, we have:

⭐ 25 new episodes (375 minutes of edited content)
⭐ 2 special episodes (About IATEFL and ETAS conferences)
⭐ A new YouTube channel
⭐A virtual Book Club with co-host Rebecca Eller-Molitas

This all exists thanks to our guests, hosts, and editors who volunteer their time and expertise to create valuable content that educators can access around the world for free.

Each 15-minute episode of TESOL Pop involves:

1. Meeting guests to plan an episode
2. Recording the episode
3. Editing the episode (this takes the majority of our time)
4. Publishing and promoting episodes

This adds up to 4-6 hours of work for each finished episode, most of which is spent on post-production. That's a lot of cups of coffee for Haven and Laura who edit episodes.

If you love what we do at TESOL Pop, then you can say thanks by buying us a coffee and leaving a note at https://ko-fi.com/tesolpop

Donations will go towards the platforms and software we use to edit and host the podcast, as well as fuel our coffee habit.

Thank you!
